I don't think you need to be imperial pilot to do it, just imperial on ground, but i'm not sure.

You only need to be an imperial on the ground. I am imperial ground force and smugglers alliance in space. You may find the last space mission a bit harder as both the attackers and the mobs you are helping defend go aggro on you.
Hope this helps,

Im sorry it just doesnt make any sense at all that the JSF is only available to Imperials. Yeah yeah, I can drop Rebel on the ground and do it.
But many of us in game have zero desire to grind out Imperial faction. Why is it that it requires Imperial in the first place? I know time lines mean nothing in the game. But youd think it would be a more natural fit for Rebels to have this ship available to them.
But more than that, this ship should be available to every pilot via a quest mission, like some of the other specialty craft are.
I'd like our pilot coro to respond to this and see if this wrong can be righted.

I spent like 30 minutes going through threads but could not find my answer. I know it had to be discussed but here is my delimma.
I am a rebel smugglers alliance pilot. I want the Jedi starfighter. I know that I will have to drop rebel ground faction and pick up imperial ground faction in order to do the quest.
My question is will I have to drop smugglers alliance pilot and pick up imperial pilot to do the quest and get the JSF?
Thanks.

I was a smuggler alliance pilot and ground Imp whe I did the quest and completed it just fine. You don't have to drop freelance to do the quest. Ditto for the ARC-170. I dropped ground imp for the rebel to get the ARC, but did it as a freelance pilot

because the quest is given to you from vader.......and vader doesn't talk to rebels, unless he's killing them. the ship isn't just a plain jane JSF, its anakins personal JSF from the clone wars

So i was like 3222 ss when i took care of the jsf quest, ya know just real easily, but i didnt finish the one after that. Ok so i get really REALLY tired of storm so i head to imp inquisition and now im 4444 in that, so i go to kashyyk to finish vader's quest right, well i talk to the guy i gave the datapd to before when i got the jsf, and he said "its been a pleasure working for you" and all that crap. I try to head to vader, and I can't get past the force field, do i need to redo all the quest, eh no worries though, still got the jsf

you probably need to finish the space portion or something, talk to another pilot trainer to get the mission cancelled and get it again from vader possibly?
