This is really the way it should be. Better profession = higher demand = higher supply (through more chefs). I actually welcome new (non-holo) chefs to my server, I'm really not concerned about them getting in while the gettings good, it's the main goal of most people to asses the best profession for them at any one time, and do it. When there are certain profession groups, they get flooded temporarily until balance is laid down or the next big thing pops up. For crafters, all the fad chefs will leave once the DE rebalance is issued, since it will be the next big thing.

I choose, D All of the above.

I agree with everything said above.

Some of the new chefs dont realize how much work this profession actually it is, others will switch again when something better comes along. Overall we will be better off, since most of us will have already been established in the servers and ready to mass produce 5 minutes after patch goes live.

<--- Non-Master Chef

I'm also anticipating that Chefs will specialize more. Because of the many new effects and whatnot, I GUESSING that more foods will be in demand. So you can either go bonkers trying to make everything, or you focus on one or 2 trees, while sombody else focuses on the rest.

I've always focused on Drinks anyway because I like bar concept, but maybe soon it will be more of a necesity.

Got a few folks in my PA starting out, curious how they'll do.

Does it bother anyone else that since the announcement of the Chef update that there has been quite a large amount of people moving to the chef profession? I've noticed at least 5 or six on my server alone (Which is a lot in the Chef world). I appreciate the small community we have, and the victory we've won so far with the fixes and updates. But now that we finally will be getting something awesome, it's time for everyone to move in and take a piece of the pie. It's their right to of course, but does it irk anyone else?

Okay so it's not just me. I have been noticing several more chefs as well who aren't holochefs. I have some theories on why some of them are becoming chefs and i think a couple will fall by the wayside (but it all depends on the revamp). I'm not saying Lowca is chef-heavy but it is interesting how many people are turning into chefs.

Well....considering we were the third smallest profession, right above pikemen and jedi (and that was before they started dropping holocrons) I don't see some growth hurting us. Yeah, I do think we will grow after the changes....then it will level off. Also, as others have said, I think we might be specializing more, so that should create more room.

Yeah Jyles, I've had at least 2-3 people per day asking for chef training. I've got 2-3 in my guild alone that are going for it.

you get 250 xp for slicng any weapon. I suggest crates of cheap knives. When you get the ability to slice armor it's still 250xp. I have Slicing 3 and I have noticed any sort of dificulty based XP boost, yet.

Everything but terminals gives 250xp. Terminals, being the freak of the bunch, only give 100.

A crate of knives is usually cheaper than a crate of anything else and it's usually fairly easy to convince an up and comingartisan to run a few crates for you. 10% crafting xp is still better than the 0% when their factories do nothing. Offer to pay for the upkeep and I don't see you having a problem.

Some have. Others have not. Use the search option. Effort = good. There are people who are close to Jedi Master (or at least above Guardian we know)
