I wouldn't mind seeing it myself. Give it the right cap and the right conversion ratio, and I think it would work.

I think being able to trade in Prestige for Force xp is a great idea. For those of you claiming that it's easier to get Prestige Points than weapon/combat xp on the ground, I have one question: just howlong does it takeyou to kill something on land?


It takes me about 20 seconds to kill a Tier 5 bad guy in space, and that gives me what, under 9k Prestige?Farming NPCs on the ground, I can kill about 15k worth of NPCs in ten seconds. And clusters of NPCs are a lot farther apart in space than they are on land. As I recall, when grinding Tier 4 I was averaging around 120k of Pilot xp an hour doing destroy missions. On the ground (I've gotMBH/Master Carb) it takes me twenty minutes to earn 120k of carb xp (plus the 12k of combat xp). Looking at it on a pure points basis, I can earn xp 3 times as fast on the ground as I can in space. And it took me longer to master Imperial Pilot than it did to master Carbines.


However, if the Devs change the system and allow us to convert Prestige, I agree that there would need to be a much lower cap for Prestige, and a suitable conversion rate should be found.


Unless the Devs are purposely refusing to allow Prestige xp to convert to FS xp with the sole intent of encouraging pilots to not forget about the ground game, I see no reason that we shouldn't be able to convert Prestige to FS xp.

Now let's speak about concrete things... 2 things need to be set, cap and ratio...

Ratio : as explained before, 30:1 would still be almost twice slower than on the ground, but let's say we are not used to max our space grinding ability... So we could have 50:1... Seems reasonable, and it won't ever become the way to powergrind with that ratio...


Cap : many grinders chose to have a dual template, to cap 2 weapons xp, so they can carry 120k potential FS xp... Even more if they chose to cap combat too, but i don't think many do it... A cap big enough to hold 100k xp would be nice, that would give us a 5 mill cap... Assuming master pilot requires 7.5 million, it can't be lower than that...


7.5 million as cap would give 150k FS xp/trip... Seems good, the cap itself is not a big deal, major part of the time spent is grinding, not doing the trip, especially now we have JTL's "instant travel"... 10km in swoop neverkilled anyone


Now waiting for your advices on that... Of course there will be people above that cap, but after the first conversion they would cap as all the others... And if they don't want to convert it, why would they need their xp for ? They can have enough to master pilot, they don't need more... Oh, yes, exept if they decide to enter Deep Space more than 250 times without killing any ship in between... I feel sorry for them if as master pilot they need it

Well, the concept is good, but I see only one flaw:


The devs have stated that it is time-based (gated village phases) and the ratio is there because of the average time it would take.


If you add space combat, in order for the design to still take the intended length of time, all other ratios wil have to be lowered.


Remember, the current length of time it takes to grind out the xp is by design.

Erf, I don't derstand you, Truewildman...

We already stated that a 30:1 ratio it will be longer to grind in space than on the ground, so with 50:1 it will be even slower...

So why lower all the other ratios ? Even if 50:1 happens to be too fast, you will only change this one, not all the others
