invulnerable as being able to stand in the middle of a battle telling your mates where enemy is, how many of them, where they come from, ... and also to explore difficult zones without any danger?
Im not sure about it being a good idea, would not be better to give it HUGE shields? so you can hyperdrive elsewhere if attacked.
Regarding the database isue ... DAM YOU!!! buy another server for the cluster and run the Orcale on it, dont be so cheaphahahhahahaha
You can use the radar to tell where enemy ships are

Oh well. I'd hoped that was an easy fix. I guess we'll just have to pick our favorite ship and stick with it for now. Thanks for looking into it and letting us know.

Which character on the account will get the ship?
I created a character, but then a few days later switched servers to a new character. I would hate for my (now unused) character to get the reward.

This is really an unfortunate and damaging turn of events.
A new player has 10 ground lots. If they decided to place 10 small Naboo houses, that would give them 750 items worth of storage. They could then make those buildings private, leaving the items alone, and have them taking up database space without any form of retribution from the devs. (One of those depressing 'Tragedy of the Commons' scenarios, to risk sounding pretentious)
Now, the SoroSuub is a reward for people who have participated in the game for six months, which given the fickle nature of online entertainment, is a substantial investment in time and effort. Although the deckplans and other pictures of the SoroSuub look most droolsome, it is disheartening to know that any decorations will have to be removed if the owning player wants to launch another Multiplayer ship.
Firstly, this will prevent fast launching of ships. Assuming that not all Multiplayer ships are created equal and have different item capacities, that would mean that any items held on Multiplayer ships would have to be kept somewhere while they are being transferred from one ship to another. We can also assume that the typical ship capacity far exceeds an individual player's inventory limit. So this would require juggling the items between the Sorosuub, the other ship, people's inventories, Banks, and Houses. This takes time. More time will be taken up by using the /move interface to set things up in the new ship as the pilot wishes.
I only pretend to be an Analyst Programmer in the real world, but wouldn't all these excessive updates on the database be more detrimental to performance than permitting a few extra rows in a more or less static table? (Like houses, I would imagine that furniture in multiplayer ships would remain fixed once the owner is happy.)
Another issue is that it's rare that a combat ready YT-1300 would have the same aesthetic interior requirements as the Sorosuub. So if a player had the time and inclination to maintain two separate ship interiors the items would need to be kept somewhere and transferred as needed. Again, this takes up the same amount of database space than if they were on the ships in the first place, but is worse on performance due to the updates needed to transfer them from one spot to another.
Finally, the popularity of Garva's Home Shows is testament to the fact that people want to be proud of their achievements and creative freedom. If this artificial (and anti-immersive) limit is upheld, then we can guarantee there won't be any Ship Shows.

TH, I saw a lot of talk in this thread about the item switching between two MP and was wondering, what is the item limit going to be for MP ships?
I really hope the Lady Luck has at least a 250 item limit. It is so big that if I wanted to decorate it completely, it will take that many items at least (probably more).
Thanks!

Would another possible solution be to limit the number of items? Say 100 items total for MP ships. This way you could have 25 items spread over 4 ships, or 100 items in a single ship... my 2 cents.

I unterstand the database issues, but why is this not possible if you donate lots to a ship? This shouldn't be that hard to code?

Thanks. I wish I had a better answer, but the technology just isn't there yet (in general). The hard decisionshere were driven by technical concerns and development challenges.

What are the people complaining wanting in this ship exactly? (pls tell)
I'm happy using it as a spectator ship
TH next beta phase needs some more information like if pre-odering is the only way in?
