considering Jawa Ion guns in SWG are completely different than the movie ones...they are 'officially' called Jawa Ion Blasters, do minimal electrical damage to shut off out of control droids and a small range of 12-17 meters...they stun droids with electricity, thats there purpose...but Devs can't see that i suppose LOL
And the point is? ....
First, the Jawa does not do electrical damage. It is an Ion rifle, which does damage the Devs have decided fits into the Stun category. Ion weapons do not damage targets by overpowering the target with high voltage electricity, but by interfering with the operation of their electrical systems, not unlike an electromagnetic pulse. So considering it stun damage is actually more logical than calling it electrical damage.
But even so, what difference does it make? Are you having problems with some massaging of the "reality" of the Star Wars universe? Well, why stop there?
Range is a problem for you? Melee weapons in the game have as much as a 20m range with Lunge moves. That is 66 feet, which is more than two first downs in football or the equivalent distance of more than 3 stories on a building. Yet a rifle can only shoot 64m, less than the distance of a football field.
And if that is not enough, people are running around with Rancors as pets, shooting accurately at 64m with pistols while on the run, standing toe-to-toe with Krayt dragons, dizzying people with ranged attacks, and throwing poisons and diseases farther than you can shoot a rifle. You can carry a PA hall in your backpack, three vehicles in your PDA as well as Rancors, Fambaas, and other creatures the size of dinosaurs. You can mine resources by just sticking a machine on the ground, and carry millions of kilograms (@ 2.2 lbs per kg) of resources in your inventory.
But even so, the point is completely irrelevant because the real point is that they decided to give the Rifleman profession a stun weapon. If they did not decide to put the Jawa in the game as a Stun damage weapon, it would just be something else.

Sotaudi, when AlaManQ5 said electricty he was talking about the movies... think Episode 4: A New Hope, Jawas shoot Artoo with their jawa ion rifle made from junk...
I have this little thing that maybe instead of a Jawa Ion Rifle... what we carry is more of what is know as a DEMP gun... a much more powerful weapon... maximum setting will destroy droids in a big explosion as the main power unit explodes.
Well also remember back to ESB, the giant gun the rebels use to shoot down the Star Detroyer in space was an Ion Cannon. The Ion weapons in Star Wars are EMP's like Sotaudi said. They are Electro Magnetic Pulses that distrupt and shut down all electronic equipment in their path. But it is also like Sotaudi said, a mute point because the devs have decided it is stun and so it is stun. Also mostStarships are equipped with Ion blasters too.
I am also in agreement with Chipmunk that what really needs to be looked at is Armour. I think the biggest change in the current game should be in armour. Thefact that composit is nigh invulnerable for pretty much zero cost, thanks to buffs, is ridiculous, but that is neither here nor there.I just want to point out what Ion damage actually is in the Star Wars Universe.

interesting...... does "one time event" mean just october 2nd? or is the jedi tef stayin in game?
The one time event means so many people got screwed over basically because of the lack of information on how visibility works that for just this ONE AND ONLY TIME they are resetting every Jedi's visibility back to 0 and just to be nice, everyone that has more than 1 million negative experience will have their experience adjusted back up to negative 1 million. As an added bonus, they finally came out and told everyone how the visibility system works now
