There are plenty of late-night Smugglers on Starsider, so you'll find someone. I can pretty much guarantee that it won't be a freebie, though - plan on spending at LEAST 650,000 credits for 5000 FP(and probably more).
I'm not an Imperial, so I definitely can't help you. Try making a post on the Starsider forum, or do running around Theed. There are a few sellers who hang out there.

Largely depends on the song, and the instrument. If your an enertainer by trade and not following some holocron, your gonna want to put some work into it. Take song Virtuoso, Ill use a certain flourish or 2 with a nalargon, or mandoviol. But never with a Kloo Horn. What sounds great with one instrument is a cat fight with another. I am a roleplayer mostly, so the huge xp gaps between skills are not an issue for me, well they were not, there is a reason the Title *Composer* only comes so late in the game (no pun intended). You have to work on it. This may not be a response you care for, but you have it nonetheless =). Rahter than putting up one of my macro's, you will feel good when you finally create a macro where you, and only you, use that combo most likely, where with no buffs or heals a single macro will only last 20 minutes or so before you stop playing due to action fatigue. I recommend you hit the Golden Beaches on Corellia, chill under a tree, and write one up. Others will sounds good sure, but you will love the game more this way, i promise. Not to mention people see that kind of dedication to your profession? You get the gigs, the player gigs, teh weddings, parties, fun stuff =).

Try logging off for about 15 minutes. If that doesnt work you will have to wait until the server rest.
People its best if you dont move around while you slice if you cross a server line you will lock up your slicing.
