Considering we aren't even to ESB yet, no, probably not, although the difference between ESB and Jedi is a month or so, I think, maybe a week less than that.

I'm pretty sure that the time elapsed between ESB and RoTJ is more than a month. Luke spent quite a bit of time between furthering himself on the path to Jedi and making his new saber. In fact, I would say it would be 6 months minimum. That said though, I'd like them to just bump the timeline all the way up to post-RotJ, after Luke starts his Jedi Academy. At least then we can explain all the Jedi running around and get some of the ships people really want to see into the game.

Each of the trilogy movies is three years apart.

You're kidding, right? The films were released 3 years apart. That says nothing for how far apart in their own timeline they are. Certainly not 3 years.

I would like to see large scale ground battles (Troops, AT-ATs, AT-STs, AT-PTs, Rebel tanks, airspeeders, etc.). Another planet or species is likely to appear in another expansion. Space Stations that would function like player cities/faction bases would be nice to see as well.

Based on Star Wars: Force Commander there was three years between The Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Hoth. As for from ESB to RoTJ, I sure it was a few months.

Artius Nimoro Elder Jedi - Alliance Ace Pilot

Leader, New World Order - Idlewind Springs, Naboo - Intrepid
There was a great disturbance in the Force (April 2005). Then finally the Force itself left the galaxy (November 2005). As the players lost their mind (bar) in April 2006 the fate of the galaxy is uncertain...

The criminal underworld in SWG is known in the literature as "The Fringe", and after the GCW is sorted the devs need to pay serious attention to it. At the moment you have smugglers who cannot actually smuggle anything, for example. And criminal factions that don't actually do anything but just sit there. These need to be a lot more dynamic and involved. But the GCW has to come first.
What could/should the next expansion be? I think everyone would like to see capital ship battles for a start. If they could get them into the original X-Wing there's no excuse not to do it now. You could have a strategic element, with high-facton ranking players teaming up and responsible for running an ISD or a Mon Cal cruiser, coordinating fighter screens comprised of other players dogfighting, just like the finale of RotJ. The core game could get the benefits too, with infantry engagements... AT-ATs, anyone? Who wouldn't want to re-live the opening scenes of ESB?
New planets are needed also, at least a few, though judging by what we already have I'm not holding my breath. I mean, Lok = Tatooine with weeds, Rori = Naboo with a lower gamma setting, Talus = Corellia. So if Hoth is introduced (and it really shouldn't be, unless they shift forward the timeline) it will probably be Tatooine with white sand. Bespin would be nice, they could introduce some PvP gambling and Fringe trading/smuggling there, but apart from Cloud City it's a gas giant, so nothing much else to do. Coruscant would simply be unworkable because of lag issues (all those skyscrapers...and Coronet is bad enough). And Dagobah wouldn't work either; not much sense having everyone visiting when it's meant to be a galactic backwater.
Basically I'd like to see the Fringe elements of SWG fleshed out and given the treatment they deserve. And larger scale battles, in space and on the ground. But this is months, and maybe years, down the line. By which time SWG2 will already be Beta or something

If I believe and remember correctly... according to Lando in ESB.. wasn't Cloud City and Besbin part of some sort of illegal mining operation he had going there? I also remeber reading that in a book somewhere once.

But whats with all the rumors of Space Mining coming out? Pictures of Space Mining in the new Website FanKit... things turning up in-game (loot, etc) such as looted datapads, documentation.. related to Space Mining?

Remember in ESB; Lando was talking to Han, Leia and Chewie as he gave them a brief tour of the Facility, explained to them what sort of business went on there... then said something along the lines of...

"But I just made a deal that will keep the Empire off our backs for good."

Then he opened a door to a Banquet room and there was Darth Vader waiting for them at the far end of the table. Han reacted first and wipped his gun out, which Vader "Force Summoned" right from Han's hand, then told them how "honered we are to have you join us" ... and the door closed on the scene.

Perhaps we could be seeing a precursor to something, leading into advancing the story towards the ESB time frame for the next Expansion?

Cloud City could possibly be as someone posted above, be part of the Underworld/Smuggler Revamp/Expansion (if there is one)... A revamp or an entire new Expansion based on bringing the Underworld in to the game, revamping the Smuggler's and introducing Cloud City as the first dockable space station.. it could be set just before the time when Han and Leia land there, so when SOE does have an event with them landing there (if they do) then Cloud City is already inhabited by the players consisting of the rogue, scoundrelish sort with a fair mix of Alliance and Imp pilots milling about.

I don't know if they did it for the JTL Expansion; but SOE is reknown in Everquest for dropping hints and little story tidbits into the game, sort of as "puzzles" for the players to figure out... roughly just a month or two before announcing an Expansion publically. The puzzle always points to the name of the new Expansion and after solving the puzzle the person is usually directed to the new website just set up for the Expansion, which remains unknown till the first person solves it.

They are also very reknown for registering several different Domain Names for the Internet to keep players guessing as to which is the correct one, for those whom are the more internet savy and are able to go and find out what Domains a company recently registered, which is usually public record.

SOE also (in Everquest) doesn't Officially announce it publically, until the puzzles are solved by the players.

It would seem to me that the next Expansion for SWG could be done on the scale that they could in theory be dropping these teaser tidbits here and there that could be pointing it out. So now if people started producing little tidbits pointing to a possible Smuggler/Underworld addition/revamp; like they have done in regards to Space Mining... then I would guess that it could be pointing to another Expanion announcement soon.

Another thing to consider.

JTL is how old?

SOE pushes out an Everquest Expanion like clockwork, once every 6 months... unless the players complain about the testing and quality of the previous one then they may delay the release of the next by an extra couple months.

So, how old is JTL, and how long ago did the Smuggler Community last hear from GreenMarine?

Just throwing out theories.

Species, Planets, Vehicles, Weapons, Armor, Ships ect.

Yes, the next expansion is called, Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of Wookiees, which will features the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk. There are 100 new missions for players of all types on this Wookiee homeworld.

There are some new additions in space as well. Rage of the Wookiees will allow players to mine asteroids in every space zone. Asteroids will yield up raw materials that can then be sold to artisans. We're not entirely sure what types of resources you'll be able to collect but we do know that the more valuable resources will be located in more dangerous areas. Although any ship in the game can be modified to mine asteroids, there will be a new, as-yet-unnamed ship specifically for mining. The new mining ship will also double as a party ship since it can hold up to 20 players at a time.

In addition to the new mining ship, the expansion will also introduce the Jedi Starfighter II featured in the prequels. There's no information on what this ship can do but, given its reputation, we imagine it will be reserved for more experienced players. A new mount from Episode III will also be included but LucasArts isn't revealing its identity.

SWG: Rage of the Wookies - CLICKIE

Very, very interesting...

How come IGN has all this info released before SOE and LucasArts?
