Don't get me wrong, in PvP I prefer my TIE Intercepter anyday, but my second choice is the Firespray, owns Oppie's and AWings left and right for me!

actually... not to nitpick. but at half speed the spray can turn like 4X faster than any advanced. I've mock fought and dueled with other ace's (some of them in tie advanced) and to be honest.. they cant even see me. no matter how hard they try to turn, Iturn WAY way way WWAY faster. and at a much slower speed. it sorta feels like i'm standing still while they just franticly fly an orbit around me trying to bring their guns on me. while i spin like a top blasting away. its like flying in a big stationary turret hehe. one that can traverse faster than they can move. I honestly suggest trying a spray, I mean really trying it before anyone thinks ill of it. I flew the tie advanced exclusively until i bought a spray. Theres no way I'd go back to the tie.
lol, my bomber can throttle down to optimum turning speedand spin like a top too.... by the time you or Ihad the chance to get your speed down that low you'd be floating parts by anyone ina much faster ship. i've mock dueled and PvPed against KSE's plenty of times.you must be turning on 1 axis or be facing off people who only turn on 1 axis because i'm yet to be shot down by anyone in a KSE in a gunfight (missiles are a different story, lol) . As a matter of fact i usually get these kind of tells from other pilots... "Thats a fast advanced you got there =) What's inside?" (keep in mind i have a guildie whos a master shipwright, so he hooks me up =D )
The only things that consistently beat me are:
A) Groups with more missiles than I have anti-ordinance and can't close in on.
B) Good A-Wing pilots with partscomparable to mine.
C) Cheap ganks while I'm FP grinding. (lol this has to have happened to everyone once... especially if youre soloing vette or gunboat groups.) - I'm a Rodian , so I often get in a daze while mass-FP grinding for my insanely inflated perk cost.
I'm not denying the KSE is agood ship, as a matter of fact it's probably the best all-around ship in the game for general purposes (fighter and capital ship dispatching) . But it doesnt compete with Int/A-Wing/Advanced for PvP superiority.

Hey, I just said everyone I talked to who flew one said they did it because it was an expensive, rare ship. Those of you who fly it for the way it flies and kick butt with it, more power to you.

personally i prefer the z95 headhunter with it's 12k mass. you can fit all sorts of level 1 weaponry in it. meet me in deep space and ill show you why i like it.

Just loaded my ship up with some space bombs!!!
Just got it today at around 11:30! Too bad because I flew it and immediatly fell in love with the handling! I love this ship! Concussion launcher for light stuff at 6577 dmg...
Space Bombs that do way over 20K each bomb!
two dissrupters at like 2500 dmg each but will upgrade this.
Counter measures are micro
I have nice weapons but can upgrade still as I still have enough on Mass! OMG this ship is sweet!
I put my Kryat T22 ship to sleep!
My ship's name is Shadow II.
Named after my toon!
And this ship is only a half hour old. Wait till i tweak it up!!!

I can only speak for myself, but I fly the firespray because I think it looks good. I was gutted when I found out it was supposed to be a loot only "rare" ship, sort of like the AV-21, but luckily I was still able to get my hands on one. I also like the x-wing, but the firespray has over twice the mass so I prefer it over the x-wing.
I'm by no means a great pilot, and I don't claim to be, so no need to tell me you'll "pwn me in deep space" - I know. (I'm one of those buffoons who did the master mission by hanging back and taking 1 shot at the bridge after the hard work was done

Hrmmm... Let's get this thread back on track shall we?
Before I begin and the nay sayers jump in, here are my credentials:
Master Shipwright
Freelancer Pilot
Imperial Pilot (second toon)
We all have our own independint preferences when it comes to flying styles. Some like to go fast and be highly manuverable. Others enjoy the idea of sitting on top of a giant gun barrel with an engine strapped underneath. As for myself I enjoy both.
I have my FS and my Kryatt. Both excell in the right situation. My Kryatt was built for grouping up with friends. I toss some non-Ace in the back so he/she can have some fun with the guild's Aces when we go to DS. Let me tell you, it's quite the sight to see 6 decimators and 5 Kryatts all flying in box formation (that's the same formation B17s used in WW II).
As for the FS? That's my PvP puppy. All the Aces in my guild (save one, it's coming buddy!) have a FS. Imagine having9 of these screamers all getting missile locks on you at once from a distance.
I can't answer for everybody. But I can tell you why I like to fly whatever I'm in at that time. It's all personal preference. Some people are into the numbers. Optimal mass, DPS, etc... While others enjoy it for austhetics. Being a master shipwright places me in the middle. Although I will admit that I lean towards the numbers while outfitting my craft, the RP'er comes out when actually flying.
I'm not to sure if I answered the exact question you were asking. It all depends on what kind of player you are. Are you a numbers type of person or a RP'er? Like I said, I'm both. Just get up there and have some fun.
And for the record... I've given away 3 FS to date. It pays to shop at my store. lol
