the tie fighter pilot suites are designed to keep the pilot alive in space till they come rescue him......thats why its so bulky..but hey..hows about making flight siutes reduce the amount of damage you sustain persoanly?? that would encourage people to wear flight suites when piloting ships...

Also from what I remember the basic Tie Fighter doesn't have the luxury of internal environment, and I certainly can't hold my breathlong enough to fly from one planet to another.
Funny that. A spherical ship is the most stable shape to have in a vacuum because the pressure on the inside is equally distributed around the hull, yet.... Here we have a spherical shaped fighter with a vacuum inside? Why not make it look like a hang glider.
Don't get me wrong, I know that you speak truth; that that was Lucas original intent. (It was, wasn't it?) I suppose the sphere maximizes the space available inside the cockpit, but it would still have been much funnier to see a bunch of space suited guys flying around seated or laying between the big panels with no cockpit surrounding them

Instead of having them create code to display badges, I'd rather they allow you to ablity of wearing "higher ranked uniforms/flightsuits" when ever you progess though the faction/flight tree.

I can't picture a fighter wearing a dancers body suit in space... but I noticed you couldn't see into peoples ships in the vids... so it wouldn't ruin the emersion for me... and heck did you see any pictures of the pilots other than the multiperson vehicles?... I don't think they do in ship graphics for players except for the multiperson craft

I think it would be very cool they added in different pilot uniforms with JTLS for all the various ship types. Not only for Rebels and Imperials but Privateer as well. And I also think it would be great if you had to EARN the uniforms/earn the right to wear them.
Here is how I picture it working: Once you get your starter ship and start working for one of the factions in space, you also get a basic uniform. Everyone with JTLS or not could tell that you’re a pilot for whatever side you decided to support just by taking note of your uniform.
As you progress through your piloting tree, you get a "cert" for the next level uniform. You can then return to the ground and visit a leader of your faction (a coordinator?) to retrieve a higher ranked uniform from them.
Only people with the right certs could wear the uniform/flight suits/helmets/ect. That way, players can take more pride in their accomplishments in space.

How does one go about making both Rebel and Imperial unifroms? I've heard it's possible, i just dont know for.
Also, how much do they sell for if you can make them?

There are many links in the stickies to player designed uniforms that ressemble the "movie" outfits. We can not craft factional uniforms, if that is what you are referring to tho. It's on our wishlist I believe...

Typical of SOE i guess. Hell, let us craft armour that's WAY more expensive, but uniforms? Nah, not expensive enough.

It's more of a lack of vision than costs.

Follow the "Outfits" link in my sig. In there I have several Rebel and Imperial uniforms (or at least as close as Tailors can make them).
