Thread: KSE FIRESPRAY

I love my Firespay. It takes a bit to get used to the handling, but once you become accustomed to it,you can whip it around like an X-wing. I see how a lot of people are complaining about weapon convergence, but I don't think that is the real problem. I find it quite easy to line up your shots so that both weapons hit, the problem is that even fully zoomed out, its extremely fat ass blocks a lot of your view. Most of us, even if we don't realize it, use the "tracer fire" effect of the blaster bolts to help with aim as much as if not more than the aiming reticle. The bulk of the Firespray blocks your view of the majority of your bolts. This gives me more trouble with landing shots than anything else.

I like my Firespray much more then the opressor, wish it had 3 weapons and a little more mass. I went to Deep space and took out gunboats, a-wings, x-wings, b-wings with no problem. At least I got hit the same as in my oppressor

Conclusion:

Firespray isnt worth the money.

If you are an Imperial that is. As a Rebel,I find the Firespray much more satisfying than the B-wing. Four weapon mounts and high mass may sound good, but its pretty worthless when you realize just how H O R R I B LY that pig maneuvers.

That's not a conclusion mate, that'syour opinion. Just becauseYOUdon't like theFSdoesn't mean it's a crap ship, but, the good news is you found a ship you like.

I've solo'd the station in my FS and i wouldn't consider taking my Oppressor near it, then again, i thinkmy tricked outOppressor is prettyboring to fly.

But as has been said, it all depends on your flying style, personal taste and your components and one of the real bonuses to JTL is that we can choose different ships and setups and we don't all have to subscribe to the Comp clone, identical template, DOT reliant gameplay that dominates the ground game.

I just got the Firespray and actually Im quite dissappointed..

I heard it was a good ship, with good maneuverability, but when I fly it its like a TIE Bomber ffs.

Why would people make these claims? Is there something I've missed?

Please

Well, personally, I love my FireSpray. It's about the only ship I fly for the past 2 months or so. I spend a large amount of my time overt in either Kessel or Deep Space in it. out of about 5-6 pvp kills all but one have been in my FS.

It's all about the gear! Not saying you have yours setup wrong/right, but pretty much every piece of equip on my FS is re'ed. 2 level 8 blasters, 2 space bomb 2 launchers, etc... Now a lot of people do complain about the gun placement but for me I find it as an enhancement. While in-flight I'm never standing still, constantly rolling and pitching one way or another. I've even taken out AWing players in my FS with no problem at all.

True, FS has a butt the size of the Exxon Valdeez, but with the high mass I'm able to load on some pretty phat armour and shields on mine. PvP is a bit different, currently whoever gets off the first accurate shot wins period so I don't see the FS as a benefit or as a penalty.

Just my opinion of course.

ps... the engines on that bad-boy just sound sweeeeeeet!

Well, It seems Im the only one who doesnt like Firespray

I found it slow and bad maneuverabilty, ofcourse nothing can compare to an Advanced (in man.) but still.

But I think the KSE deserves a mass increas, just look at it, the B-Wing has even more mass doesnt it? and its way thinner/smaller

That's what I have been saying but didn't it already get an increase? I remember 'older' versions selling less. Would hate to have to buy my Firespray AGAIN...

They are pretty nice ships, though--high mass with excellent handling for being so heavy. I'm not sure why the original poster would be having trouble with that. When I flew one, I found it significantly more responsive than a Bomber and slightly more so than a Rihkxyrk or Krayt, so I'd have to second the advice to be patient with it. It's definitely an unusual ship, one that requires some time to get comfortable with, but once you're in tune with the peculiarities of the Firespray, it can be a very effective ship.

Better than a Krayt? You sure? I had a thread in here a few weeks back asking which people thought is the better ship and the Krayt seemed to come out on top by a fair margine, that was the only reason I didn't get one at the time. Been wanting to test drive KSE for a while to find out for myself, but funnily enough, there aren't many people that'll let you hope in their KSE and take off heh.

Not better than a Krayt overall, just more maneuverable.

I had to put a really good engine in the KSE before it seemed like it handled like anything.
My KSE engine is 102 speed p/y/r 87/88/86. That is a lot of engine and kinda hard to come by but it does make the KSE fairly nimble compared to the other Imp craft I'm used to.

My best engine is level 8 RE'd, 92.9 speed, 76.2/76.2/76.3 YRP not too heavy at 22k mass. My main worry with the KSE is that with only 2 weapon slots, they'll both have to be pretty good weapons and the best I've got right now are 2 of the tier 4 reward ones, RE'd to 2.5k-3.8k damage .66-.7 eff.

I'll stick with my X-Wing, NC and A-Wing I can fit enough eq on my A-Wing to fight effectively in PvP, my X-Wing in PvP with my RE'd weapons and 19rr shields can own the space. And when going up against the vette I only need my NC (Nova Cruiser)
