That meduim fighter should be the heavy fighter due to its size, IT'S HUGE!!!Also the heavy fighter is the size of the Decimator of the Nova Couriur.

Just who is this lol guy and why is everyone talking about him?

These are the coolest damn fighters in the game, hands down. They just ooooze coolness. Hats off to the art dept. Can you make a prototype E-Wing fighter now? Not exactly canon, but neither are TONS of jedi running around!

Yeah, and the A-Wings and B-Wings that the rebels have are not exactly canon for the Time Line either, so it's no big deal.

I'm curious though, as to why so many made up ships, instead of using existing ships from the EU, since canon fell by the wayside long ago? The TIE Opressor? Come on, why not use the TIE Defenders if you wanted a three wing, high tier Imp Ship? The Hutt Ships are cool, but they could easily have put in any of the following:

IRD Fighter
Cloakshape Fighter
R-41 "StarChaser" Fighter
"Preybird" Fighter
Ghtroc Light Freighter as an alternate for the YT-1300
YT-2000
YT-2400
I-7 "Howlrunner"

For Imps:
The aforementioned TIE Defender
Scimitar Assault Bombers
Skipray Blastboats
Assault Shuttles
Lambda Shuttles (They *can* fight, and are about as good as a Z-95 in most cases)
A-9 "Vigilance" Starfighters

For Rebels:
Well, pretty good here....

Although, speaking canonically, the Y-Wing and Z-95's were used by independants as much if not more than by Rebels, which is a big part of *why* the rebels kept using them. It was easier to make raids against targets in a ship that was not directly identified as a rebel craft, but could easily just be a bunch of pirates. As a counter, I agree with others that the YT-1300 should be available to Reb's and Imps, and there should also be 'unique' Multiperson in the form of the NovaCouriers, Decimators, and maybe one of the above mentioned Independant ships, like the Ghtroc.

Anyway, I digress... speaking canonically at this point is rather moot, since we've already mentioned that canon no longer really applies. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and am glad I came back to it, there's been a lot of things improved since I stopped playing, but there are just as many that still need to be improved. I'm just curious on the choice to make new ships that are unique to the game, instead of using stuff that people who follow the EU would recognize right away. Maybe I just answered it myself, with the fact that they are unique to this game. *shrug*

Oooh Nice Black Suns - I'm a rebel w/ a Sweet Z95 w/ LvL 4 parts (Forget the Ywing ... poo poo manuverability = death... even though the Turret is awesome)

Just some suggestions:

Add the Star Viper fighter - as another of the Special designs like the Firespray, or as a Master Privateer Ship.

Add the Ewing Fighter - they're awesome - the speed of an Awing, the manuverability of an Xwing, and the

firepower of a well equipped Ywing, what's not to like? (Of course it'd be a Master Rebel Pilot ship)

Add the TIE Defender - It's such a shame it's not available to the Imperial pilots.

Add the Lambada Class Shuttle- another Imperial and Rebel mulitperson ship, just make it hard for Rebels to get one. The rear turret should be functional.

Enough said - Don't worry I'll think of more stuff as time goes by. Although, as it stands JTL is an unequaled success in my book.

Oh, BTW, will players w/out 180 consecutive days of SWG active account status, be able to get the Sorosub Vet Reward when the do reach 180 days?? I have only 79 I think, so it'll take forever, but I hope it'll be available.

Star Viper: Im not very knowledgeable about this ship, so why the hell not(unless theres a good continuity reason not to include it).

E-Wing: Nope, sorry that wasnt even designed until after the battle of Endor I think. You can just about explain away the presence of A-Wings and B-Wings in SWG, but not E-Wings.

TIE Defender: Are you serious? Even the E-Wing didnt stand a chance againt a TIE Defender. This would destroy balance in PvP combat.

Lambda Shuttle: This on I would LOVE to see ingame. Right now there are really no "suitable" ships for ground officers, the Decimator is really a Light Frigate, not the sort of thing you see Colonel Bob using to take his CO to dinner on Naboo.

It's all about the blacksun heavy fighter. That thing is a boat. For instance was showing off to one of my freinds and parked next to her yacht. I lined up as close to even at the back as I could. My rihkxyrk was nearly over half as long as the Yacht! And let me tell you it's all hood. I feel like i'm flying a cadillac you know the old fashioned type, built like a tank and goes on forever.

These ships look cool, but don't really show any creative design or originality that most of the original StarWars space crafts displayed.

I mean, eveyone of these newly introduced ships, Hutts, Decimator, BlackSuns, seem to be based on the same design template even though they are supposedly from seperate and distinct engineering yards. They all utilize a flat, enlongated hull with prominant wing-stubs and wing-like vanes, giving all the ships a undeniably "atmospheric" feel to them. Give thedecimator, the hutt fighters, and the black suns similar paint jobs and they could all look as if they are most the same engineering design philosophy.

All of the previous StarWars designed had unique chasis that embodied the engineering design freedom that non-atmospheric flight bestows as well as a "form-meets-function" philosophy. The Firespray, the Lamba Shuttle, the Tie fighter, and the B-wing all have a distinct look symobolizing seperate engineering design processes. I even recall from the movies seeing a Solar-sail design as well as a modular and detachable orbitor/lander design in the starships.

Sure eveyone's stuck in a "atmospheric" mindset, and wants their ship to look "sexy," but where's the originality and creativity?

I agree with Yuuknow completely. When I heard there were going to be black sun fighters, I was really interested even though I will be flying rebel ships. Does anyone remember what black sun fighters actually look like? Anyone read the Shadows of the empire comic? What about the Virrago? That was a black sun ship, and probably one of the most interesting designs of them all, but thats not part of the black sun line up. Not even the standard issue black sun fighters are in here.

I hate to say it but, these designs look more clunky and rigid. The old designs for black sun fighters looked really sleak, sharp, and mysterious...like the affiliation that bears the name "black sun".

I just wonder where they thought of these designs. Did you guys even attempt to look into the expanded universe for design ideas?

Oh well, more ugly ships to blow up!

I put this in another thread a couple hours ago, by accident...

I, for one, am somewhat disappointed. The fighters look pretty good, I'll probably use them... but, in my opinion, they shouldn't have been made. These are totally new ships, unique to Galaxies, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, there was a ship already in existance which the Black Sun used, the Virago (or the Star Viper I suppose would be more accurate). Instead of using this ship and basing others off it, they decided to ignore it completely and create three new ships. To me that says one of two things: either they didn't know it existed, even though it's been in games (if anyone remembers the only N64 Shadows of the Empire... I'm pretty sure they were only in one level, but they're there), or, more likely, they just ignored it. To me that just show a huge lack of respect for the subject. Now, I'm not saying they need to know every detail of every aspect of Star Wars, I mean, some things, for balancing purposes and to make the game a fun game can't be accurate, but not including the Star Viper isn't one...

I'm not trying to troll, just giving an opinion. I will say, however, that the models for the new ships look good, and the ships themselves are pretty good.

As a couple side notes: I noticed someone mentioned including the star viper as a master ship, as a bonus fighter like the firespray. The problem with that is that Xizor had the Virago (and Star Viper) made specifically for his use by MandalMotors.

Also, someone mentioned the TIE Defender, but given the time period I don't know if that fits. I'm not 100% on when defenders were made, so I'm not going to say definitely one way or the other, just that that may be a factor. Also, Defenders look really bad from every angle but straight front and straight at the side. If you actually see it in 3 dimmenions it's quite horrendous... but that's just my opinion, which I know isn'ta reason to exlude it from the game, because I'm sure there are a lot of people that like it.

Suffer us fools still waiting for EBgames to deliver our disks... to get to the Black Sun Faction is there a particular place to 'enlist' or do any of the Privateer recruiter guys give you the option to go their route?
