This is a gift given to you. If you want a combat ship, play in one of the others that aRE NOT invulnerable. Making this upgradable to use in combat is like...a deathstar.

Im totally with SOE and the original idea of this ship being a Lux-Yacht. This ship is designed to invite your friends or some cool noobz to a space party, or watch a major battle, also makeing the inside beautiful to "live" in,or just soak in the hot tub and have a good time with some friends. After we getthis ship, we will have
1)- A beautiful Yacht (free gift)
2)- A multi-person battle ship (requires work to design/get)
3)- A Fighter for individual space battle. (requires Faction and work)
What more do you need? I cant get over the "childern" who are going to quit playing SWG over this ship or other minor stuff. My god! I cant wait for these loosers to quit playing and get off our servers! If you dont like the game because the graphics arent perfect, or something got nerfed, or it's too much of a grind for you, then this game will never satisify you and you shouldfind another game to spoon feed you.I play because I enjoy the game and people.

I cant believe people will actually quit the game just because what looks like the biggest ship in the game isnt a war ship. There will be 20 ships in game and all but 1 is a combat vehicle. Whats the problem......?

This free ship should NOT be upgradeable. But a version of it should (and most likely will) be available later that can be upgraded, either as a high level mission reward or a hard to get schematic for master SW's (like RIS but not as ridiculous please!). I just cant see the dev's wasting such an awesome ship design that people will not be using a couple of months into JTL as the noveltly will have worn off.

Bah! OK! Make an option! If you want to have "party barge" - ok. It's not vunerable, have fun.
But when you switch to "combat" button - it's perma-button. Then you'll have normal ship - upgradeable, vunerable, able to shoot.
It's fair for everyone.

/Sign well even if they dont give weapons upgrades they should still make it to where some things are upgradeable so we could use it for some kind of profit like smuggleing spice in a hidden compartment or something lol

My preference would to make it that the Yacht can be used as a combat ship, but only under the condition that it has weapons attatched.
i.e.:
You upgrade it with Engines, Sensors, whatever- still invulnerable, can't fight (kind of 'iffy' on the sensors, as it could then be used as a "scout" ship, and the enemy can't do a thing about it *I think, as I'm not in Beta*).
Upgrade it with weapons- bam, it's no longer invulnerable, you can fight, be attacked, etc. Once weapons are unequipped (Assuming that you can't add or remove upgrades while in space, to avoid exploits. Also assuming that you can remove upgrades once added, period).
That way, it can have uses that cater to all the different types of players, with minimal to no exploits using the invulnerability.
