LOL, I haven't read it in a while (but I have read it 3 times) and I don't remember Kessel being mentioned at all in Heir of the Empire. Now in the Jedi Academy Trilogy, they get intimate with Kessel, and it doesn't talk about any populated planets other then Kessel itself (the patato) and its moon.
Visit the links that I and others posted and you will see the EU version of Kessel. It isn't what is in JTL.

I believe that is Kessel's moon. I remember the moon having a military like compound on it.

Im sure they did some research into the matter. The Planet could be Kessel if it follows the Heir to the Empire book. Maybe those books contradicted each other an the Devs just had to pick between them. That or the Kessel system just isnt finished yet an will be added upon later.
