I like the idea, but, maybe there can be these mission ternimals to do Space missions(with your ship of course) and theere would be rebel and impierals, and normal ones. It would be kinda funny if you get defeated in a space station, you have the option to deathblow, or drag the incapicated body down space. The body will then have a cutscene, with it going down the atmoshphere, and then youll land on the planet in a random place, that would be funny. You can also do that with corpses.

I like the mission terminal idea alot...that would be a great implimentation. Uhm but I'm not sure how I feel about the chucking bodies into space idea...lol

If it starts raining corpses in Eisley, you know there's a freakin huge battle going on upstairs....*laughing*

Well, mission terminals would be great, even for odd jobs working on, around, or for the staion. Great ideas keep them coming. The devs aren't going to notice if we don't talk more about it and let them know, hey this is what we want. So /sign, /sign, /sign away.

Thanks a million,

Come on people. /sign if you want the devs to change anything. We need your support.

I was thinking about this last night as I was going through some of the deserted NPC cities.

It all sounds nice, but after the initial thrill wears off, how extensively would these space stations be used? Wouldn't they tend to end up like a lot of the NPC cities? Wouldn't this mean a lot of dev work for not much return?

Nowif there was some sort of 'must have it' feature on the stations, then people would come, but what sort of feature would this be?

There would only be 8-10 of them. As opposed to the numerous amounts of cities we had. If the devs would make it interesting and very interactive then i would have to say no, they wouldn't become barren wastelands.

Everyone wants boardable space stations, but think about it two weeks later....

Empty....

The truth is most cities don't get too much life.

Try finding another peron in Deja Peak Naboo you'll know what I mean

Why spend all the time and effort creating more empty space devoid of content. Truthfully I don't care that I can't board a station, because I realize I probably never would any way. 8/9 space stations is still a very large number for any server, if there were to be boardable space stations I'd say two or three at most.

On top of the work of making a space station work, and toying with the numbers the devs also have to make it innovative, interactive, draw people to it like moths to a lightbulb. Why put all this work in a trivial luxury when a dev could be putting their time into more important things

It isn't difficult to program this believe me. There are other concerns however such as server space and performance and support logistics.

I am all for it (apart from the apartments - maybe later) but start with 2 or 3 stations to weight up the use. They can all map the same way anyway - they are the same structured stations after all (for Neutral stations). Have Bazaars, Cantina's, medical centers, etc. But if you refer to some previous subjects, you will see that people want more reasons to:

1. Go to NPC cities - give us some space mission terminals!

2. Go back to space - give us some space mission terminals damn it!

I've operated a Sorosuub Yacht as a taxi for the past few days - just had JTL a couple of days - and I enjoy having people on board whilst taking them place to place - I just would like something more substantional in regards to that as a career path. What about people who don't want to fight? Say someone purchases a YT-1300 and decide they would prefer to keep it un-armed and just courier people and take them from city to city? Sounds like a fun way to play myself - I don't always feel like killing some poor guy in a Tier 4 ship.

I would love space stations to be accessable, sounds like the makings of a possible theme park idea.

That is why there would be a ten minute wait on repairs; it could be one of the only ways to repair in space and it would keep people coming to the station. Problem solved, that is why I brought it up in the first place anyways.

Forcing people to have to wait ten minutes for repairs may not be too popular, but man, it's an excellent idea.

I was thinkin making the faction stations capturable, have em in deep space or something. bring the whole gangsta krew of smuggler, be, bh, commando, and sl to take em down. but also have the ones with stores too. i like the ideas so far.

Its like going to an amusement park and having a group of rogue Llamas preventing people from getting on a ferris wheel or a roller coaster. People going to the amusement park expect animal control to come in and remove the rabid Llamas.
