well I'm a fan, but not a hardcore fanboy. I think there are lots of great sites for computer stuff.
Ones I like are
www.pricewatch.com
www.frozencpu.com
www.xoxide.com
There are others but I gotta find the urls.
I'm gonna change my sig as soon as I come up with a better one

If every single doctor stopped "buffing" for one day a lot of players would get angry because they'd feel helpless, they'd all have to group togethor to do dungeons and such because they don't see the potential of their characters, or everyone would go see an image designer and change their stats back to the way it was before "buffs" became an everyday necessity for players. Now those were some interesting times in the game hehehe

What would happen if all the Docs stopped buffing for one day on every server?
Ever witness the fury in a child's tantrum when you discover they are playing with something dangerous and you take it from them, hold it above your head while you try to explain why they cant have it..?
On another note I think it would be hilarious, soe should do a reset to reset ban on buffing for 24 hours, behavior study during this period would be facinating. Would people just sit and sulk like predicted or would it encourage having faith in your group member/guild so we can go back to looking out for each others backs.

People would whine to no end, as they no longer know how to play this game with tactics or in a group. It would be interesting to see what happened though.

Man, I've seen this happen on Kauri once....only it was no doctors in coronet for about 5 minutes. Five minutes is all it took to get crowds of people running the streets spamming "WHERE ARE ALL@#$%THE DOCTORS!!!!"
After a while they'd start checking your bio and then ask for a buff. I didn't stick around too much longer
.

/bump anyothers, it is interesting how even in a game that doctors have power over life and death LOL. I know everyone is always concerned about the fotm but doctors are the best profession because all the FOTM wouldn't exist without us and our buffs. Anyone else imagine what whould happen to the game if we quit for a day?

I cant count how many tells I get a day for buffing. I wish there was a /addignoreallbuffinquiries. I walk out of the starport in Coronet and a line forms in front of me if there is no other doc, and I am not even there to buff. It would be interesting to see the alternate modes of combat.

"I only mention this because some people consider buffs one of the downfalls
of the game."
Personally? I think it is these folk that would be complaining
the loudest that there is no doctor around when they need one.

Personally, I would like to see buffs become illegal (in-game), to where you need to do it in secret or risk a tef, just like when you get scanned for sliced weapons and armor, or having spice on you. This would make the game a little more interesting becausethe docs would have to do itinsomewhat safer places (player cities, faction bases, or just in some place in the wild). Then they can finally raise their prices (they're pretty low on Sunrunner) tooffset the risk.

I think such an instance would be telling. At the begining before doctor buffs became common place, people HAD to group to do the high end content. And there was a howl of protest that this game was canted toward the uber players and groups.
Then along come hologrinding and the doctor population soared and peeps got a good look at doctor buffs and said 'Wow, with these I can actually excersise my choice of playstyles and solo SOME of the higher level content'. So the Dev's never really had to address this since technically, they alreay had and we were just too dense to see it till the doctor population got up high enough to register with the masses
Now, doctor buffs are so common place that folks have gimped themselves (their stats) to the point where they almost have to have them to play even mid level content. Now people are howling that buffs should be nerfed or whatever to bring back some of the game dynamics that hologrinders destroyed on their way to jedi
I predict that with the end of hologrinding, we're going to see a serious decline of doctors and a serious increase to the prices of buffs and buff packs. This will have the effect that people will have to make critical decisions about their playstyles. Chef buffs other than brany and canape will gain more popularity and ID's will find themselves with a spike in demand for stat migration and players deside that doc buffs are too expensive and swear off them in favor of food and spice buffs.
In otherwords, the Dev's may not have to do anything but keeps up their hand's off attitude and see how it shakes out. Because, as I see it, many of the dynamics people are looking to get back too may just come back on their own. Rather like bell bottoms and big hair

Its hillarious that civilization as we know it would come crashing down, without doc buffing at starports. It puts me in mind of the Issac Asimov short story Night Fall where a whole civilization falls do to the simple fact that they have never had a period of night for over 1000 years. The reason I posted this question on the forum was to kind of gauge what will happen in the combat balance if they completely nerf doctor buff. I hope they don't just change the way the ham bars work for specials like it has been speculated. But it could mean a end to the tumblers in the med centers in anycase lol.
Buffs have become a mixed blessing for this game, a chance to explore the worlds by yourself and take on creature you would normally have no chance soloing. And yet buffs have isolated many and become a wonder drug from most. Hopefully, during the pre combat balance trials they find a solution that will benefit all regarding buffs. I know there are several threads against buff blaming them for the hindering of group play and general downfall of the game. Buffs are a tool and the user decided how to use the tools handed to them. There are many solutions at hand but most people only see things from one side.
I just wish we could have one day without them and I think everyone will change their ideas that buffs are necessary in some form because the game needs them to fix gameplay flaws for now.
