this ship when its equiped with the all new uber parts will certainly be able to go toe to toe with a vette. I mean come on people 5 million mass andALL new uber parts, that means sheilds,weapons,engines,armor that basicly make the thing indestructalbe. and if u wanna say any fighter could take it out think again...with that mcuh protection and that much firepower coming from it id compare taking out one of these to taking out a ghrag merc gunboat.

Anyone else with this experience?? Im still waiting for my shipwright to craft my mining lasers etc. So I didnt have a chance yet to test it. But I really really hope that mining is a good thing now with those things.

I believe btw that gun number 2 is indeed the gun that the pilot operates. I did get a chance to test that all alone in my big ship

How do u actually use the Y-8 for mining? Do u have a multi-person crew and some use mining lasers and others target the same asteroid chunk and use tractor beams? Seems impractical. Would have been nice if the pilot had control of more guns or guns were paired and could be grouped so each gunner controlled a laser and tractor beam.

We've had some success with that lately on Lowca. Our PL channel has around 25-30 people on it most nights (though not all in space.) The weekly PvP events have been around 20 people.

Working with the new Elite POB components, we got the Y8 with a 71 YPR which is awesome for a ship it's size. Not only that, but we were able to get a 126 engine, to get it's speed up to almost 1300. Using the Elite Booster with that engine, we were able to get the ship up to almost 1900 speed!!

So she's not a slow or clunker of a ship by any means.
