I've pondered part of this question already on another thread:

Basically, I think that if done right, JTL could enhance the ground game experience. I'm also craving the day when we can walk through space stations and large capital ships.

When I played XvT and XWA, all I wanted to do was land my ship somewhere, get out and have an adventure. There was no avatar. When I started SWG, all I could think about was how great it would be if I could get my guy up into space and blow stuff up. In short, I want to do both things.

How the GCW plays out in space is entirely dependent on how all of this overt-in-a-factional-ship stuff works out. It could be a ridiculous gankfest where people camp navy buoys and cap players in less tricked-out ships or it could be an annoying Carebear fest where nobody can do anything to anyone else without a permission slip. Hopefully, it will fall in between those extremes.

I'm hoping (but not holding my breath) that space and ground will at some point be very dependent on one another.

As much as I'm looking forward to JtL (and I have been since day one) I don't want it to feel like a separate game. If the ground and space games are separated to the point that JtL almost feels like a standalone game, I'll be disappointed.

I want to see missions which start at an Imperial base, require you to invade a rebel base to get the coordinates of a rebel convoy, spy on the transmissions of the convoy, take out said convoy, then head to the base where the convoy was headed and destroy that base.

Alas, based on the current missions I see on the ground, I think I'm expecting too much.
