Thread: Pilot prestige and Force sensitive progression.

Jedi Pilot skills is a difficult one - in the current timeframe the best and most reputed pilots are people like Wedge Antillies, Dash Rendar, and of course Han Solo - none of which are force sensitive. Corran Horn is also handy on a ship, and doesn't use the force (currently anyway).

Luke and Darth are meant to be the best pilots in the galaxy, but Luke couldn't handle two basic tie's and an advanced without losing his droid. And Darth certainly didn't see that YT coming when he was in the trench.

So I would say that being a jedi would be a hinderance to flying, mainly because you're so busy comtemplating the nature of the force that you don't see the proton torpedo flying up your tail pipe

They day they add force skills to piloting is the day i quit the game forever.

one of the reasons i enjoy space so much is because i can escape the trash talking gank fest on the ground.

I cant even walk out of my starport with my alt shipwright, combat lvl 8, without being challenged to 8 duels from jedi. And telling me to type /du - im a veteran in this game not a noob. (deeper issues here)

But anyways, i think having jedi pilot skills is the most horrible idea ever. If they were to add that, then they might as well call the game "Star Wars Jedi"

You wont see most of these guys in space, where its all up to your skills. Most of these jedi like to have an easy button on the ground. Ive seen a lot of jedi come up to deep space, get blown up in their jsf by an experienced pilot in a jtls ship, and never come back. NOT ALL JEDI MIND U. We have a lot of great pilots who are jedi on our server. But im talking about the type of people im trying to stay away from. Your 13 year old "care bear" jedi.

well... forget my initial point of view....

I'm still thinking there's a way to use prestige points in force sensitive way. Now... in what sort of use... i thought on pilot skills like normal pilot skills that have a very long time to be restored and are extremly heavy in ship components consumption. But not in the same way as on the ground skills (not so ubber). Afterall there's some roleplaying jedi that can bring on their roleplaying atitude not only on the ground. And i know a lot of pilot that became as ubber in space as jedi on ground not only with their piloting habilities but from RE components that give them a really more powerfull ship as a standard one.

in response to applying FS skills to reduce the mass of ships' components: It seems to me that your saying instead of taking the time to farm parts like all the other pilots with good loadouts; that you, as a jedi, should just have it a lot easier than the rest of us with FORCE MASS REDUCTION. hmm. that makes me wonder what would be next. Perhaps they should implement force cloak into the space game. That way all of the hours i spent looting and fine tuning my ship would be for nothing when i get blown up by and invisible ship. Or avoid getting blown up - that would be a good one too.

Nice idea...

Make the boards flood with even more whines about the current jedi population!

If anything needs to be done with the JTL stuff and the FRS its the poor shipwrights who are FS grinding and are in an essentially dead end job because they can't trade in shipwright experiance.

SOE have stated from day one that Jump to Lightspeed and Jedi skill will not be linked. Hoping not now or ever to tell you the truth. And yes, I have a jedi toon with the vehicle control line, and yes, I said I don't want it linked into jump to light speed. To do this, really they would have to give bounty hunters the ability to hunt jedis in space to make it fair. Imagine how annoyed a pilot of a POB ship (not owned by the hunted jedi) whould be if his ship was blown up for the bounty inside it? Not to mention the rest of the crew!

Space is my escape from the whole jedi joke. If I knew what was on its way, I honestly wouldn't have bothered with the jedi grind.

IMO, the best thing that come out of my getting padawan was the extra toon on the same server - I bet more people know my unlocked toon than know my jedi one and its half the "age" lol.

apologies if it sounds like a flame, it isn't supposed to, it simple disagrees with you and points out a few things.

Don't take it the wrong way.

Hem... i didn't think in a such way but much more in modifications in existing skills. Like time to restore pilot skills like etrust or ptrap, some benefits in engine overload... something reasonable, not ubber ones... but i like the 'avoid getting blown away'! sounds like 'avoid incap'

There is only ONE jedi skill used in the movies in space that I can think of, thats switching of your targeting computer, so I think that Jedi in space should be made to fly without their targeting computer.
