Well, since JTL is required to play then I'll have to agree that a spaceport travel option to Kashyyyk shoudn't exist. It should be somewhere you have to fly to. Like, fly into Kashyyyk space and have to get through all the enemies or whatever else there is to get to the landing area of Kashyyyk. That way every time you go there it's an adventure.

Well.... they did say that JTL would be required to play the game so mabye your wish will be granted. Or mabye just outrageous priced tickets somewhere in the 10-20K range? This will force people to fly because of budget reasons.

I think that they are gonna make Kashyyyk non accesable to non JTL players since it requires JTL to be able to play the Rage Of the Wookiee expansion.

Cutting the fat away,
Purist says, "Remove the travel button".
Roleplaying is fine and often fun, but sometimes time available to game is short due to real life schedules. Want to have more imersive game experience, then just don't use the button. Nobody says you have to use it, but the option is nice to have when time is short. This isnt everquest, and nobody needs a 30 min boat ride.

Actually, they say that inorder to play ROTW you need to own JTLS. So, I have a feeling that there is going to be a unique way of getting to Kashyyyk. I also believe that JTLS really needs to play a bigger role in the game...It's STAR WARS not PLANET WARS.

I am sooo happy RoW and JTL will be combined. Now jusk make it work like deepspace or kessel but maybe add one more jump as you need to sneak in.
Better yet, make the intermed. jump point shift like resources. Actually as I recall hyperspace jumps are always moving - that is what the nav comp. is for.
Anyhow JTL is part of the expansion, so there is no need for public transport. I think they need to adjuxt that systems, they need to move back to 5 min. the dang things are always around shaking my screen

I personally think this is an absolutely brilliant idea. Since JtL and RoTW are coming together, there is no reason why this couldn't be implemented at all. You hyperspace into the system, gather your groupmates, and traverse the space sector to get to the docking station for the planet, and you have to do it, no regular fly in garbage. Would certainly add a sense of 'adventure' to this 'adventure planet' and would give the players a sense that they are cooperating and add a feeling of actaully making an expedition to the planet. I expect this planet will be primarily high end content, and after CU, high end content is supposed to require a group to do, so why not have a group in space as well? I personally hope they don't dumb down this expansion for noobs, because Kasshyk is supposed to be a strictly business planet, you dont go there unless you can handle the action. Even the wookies don't often stray below the treetops, because of the crazy beastiness of the local creatures on the forest floor hehe. So I say Im all for it, and an excellent idea for INTEGRATING.

It'sa relief to hear they are making this a JTL only expansion. The definately makes this idea very easily implimented. We have the chance to finally have a real reson to go into space aside from just wanting to "kill stuff".
Alot of good ideas and feedback in this thread, Just wish there was a way to be sure the dev team has seen this thread.

I always pictures a guild trip to some distant world through dangerous space sectors where most of us would be on a multiplayer ship with a few guildmates flying fighter escort. Something about the fact that the only reason to launch into space once you reach master pilot is to fight seems backwards. Space should be about travel with the possibility of having to defend yourself, but as things stand now we have no destinations that require us to go to space at all.
This could also be achieved by allowing landing on space stations (using the textures from the new player tutorial) or docking with ships like a Corvette (of course using the already available corvette interior). These would allow for all sorts of new more interactive missions with a real Star Wars feel.
I've been wanting a change like this for a long time and with the inclusion of a new planet I finally see the poassibility.
Love the idea. Not actually sure I would do it with Kashyyyk though. I would rather adventure to an actual place in space like a station or large capital ship like you mention at the end of your post.

But remember, we are going "backwards" in the storyline now lol. First the infestation of jedi, now back to a homeworld of the wookies not controlled by the empire.
I just wish SWG would have taken place during the time of the clone wars, then every 1 year of actual gameplay is 10 years in star wars lore. That would account for the shelf life of the game, as well as follow a story line and character development. /shrug
