nothin... infact.. most pistoleers will just pistol whip you then use stoping **edit**.... meaning they basically own you with 2 hits in close combat....

Before you make judgements on our beautiful profession Makestro, you had better get some weight under your belt. I'll school any pistoleer in a heartbeat.

Brawler Master, Fencer Master, TKA 4-0-0-4, Pikeman 0-3-0-0

That can be read as a challange =]

Do we get speed modifications in our specials?

Ie: My weapon speed is 2.2 say, normally, when i was a pistoller any special attacked at more than 2.2..

And i wont be able to getmaster brawler.. too many points wasted on mastering a crafting profession.

I've decided to go Master Heavy Swordsman

I was thinking (up until I read the forums) of going Master Brawler (for lunge2), Master HS, Doctor 0430 for decent self buffs, rez, etc.

I'm now thinking I should get a few defense tiers from fencer, like 4040 to stop the TKMs from knocking me down and beating me to death... is it worth sacraficing master brawler to pick up those defense tiers? The only reason I was getting Master Brawler was to do a knockdown on my opponent in pvp..... what do you pvpers think??

Thanks

fyi now need doctor medicine use 4 to use D pack enhancements. Usual med use of a D is now around 92, but it can be bumped down to 90 with 1 point in ease of use. This means you'll need 0440 to use them.

Sure you can get along with c packs, but considering for 2 more points you can double the buff power, kind of a waste not to use Ds

Too true. This goes with the concept that a Commando is a "Support Class". It's dangerous by itself, but 100 times more dangerous when in a group.

While people are distracted, you can run up and flame them all at once.

Yeah or drop grenades (for what it's worth), or just run around setting all the pets on fire.

Commando is not the best all around PvP profession...currently we are ok against melee opponents as they have to fight in the same range as us, but currently they do 2.5x Melee Damage to us...basically it's a Fire The Dot and run kind of scenario...1 or 2 misses on1 of ourspecials usually can lead to our deaths...lol...but the good news is the 2.5x Mulitplier is going away, so we should do even better against Melee opponents...

Ranged Professions on the other hand all know one simple rule "stay outside 16m when fighting a Commando"...they do this and hit us repeatedly with their ranged specials...Kiting us amajor weakness for our profession. There is Ranged Mitigation coming to our Profession with the next patch so it will be interesting to see how this is effected (if even noticable).

The thing you have to ask yourself is what type of PvP opponenet do you usually fight? Ranged or Melee...if you fight a lot of ranged opponents, get some good secondary ranged skills...like 0040 of smuggler or 0040 of pistoleer, or various aspects of rifleman, etc...this will give you a way to deal with kiters...

If you fight more Melee opponets...get some TKA or Swordsman or Fencer...all have good Melee abilities and is always nice for a surprise when that Melee opponent charges you...to see you fire a dot, unequip the FT, switch to a Melee weapon, and spank them Melee style...

It is my view that often times it's not the Main Profession you have that actually wins the fight...it's how wise you were about dabbling the rest of your pts that did the trick and gave you the edge...

Im thinking of going...

-Master Commando

-Dirty Fighting

-Pistoleer 0404

-TKA 4001

This way, i'll be able to knockdown someone, delay them for 10 seconds and flame their ass.

I'm master commando / master tka myself and usually in pvp if it's one on one I usually don't do very well unless I'm lucky enough to land a couple of RL shots, or my opponent just sux and lets me get close to him. But in large raids with mass confusion I become a death dealing madman muhaha. So it really depends on which scenario you like better. I've thought about dropping some tka for the smuggler low blow tree, but since the decay now factors in I don't pvp nearly as much anymore

its very useful, getting within the lunge range is the real challenge. its not that hard, and the challenge is fun, and once you get them down and take out their mind its a great feeling. not that useful for charging melee's though. ull find urself spamming warcry while ur chasing ur kiting enemy and once u hit them ull start spamming lunge 2.

usually takes 1 or 2 lunges to take down the average kiter, and 2-4 for the charging melee. thats why ull see urself using warcry2 against charging melee's.

great for pvp, great for pve. have fun.
