Now that's weird...
I just found out, when standing in Coronet, that I lagged very much. It was a really weird lag, however:
I was standing there and everyone kept on talking (and no unusual readings on my network monitor either) and everything around me was going on normally but my messages were extremely delayed (nothing at all first and then everything gets send at once), as if I had a packet loss on everything I sent... since everything the others did or say was getting through...
I wonder if this just occured or if it was around all the time and I simply didn't notice on ground since I wasn't doing much on ground until now.
Did anyone else, who is affected by the space issue described here, experience this on ground? Or can anyone test and confirm that?
And yeah, I tested with the 2nd PC which is working normally in space... the char was standing around in the same town, just a few feet away and did NOT lag.
That gets me the idea maybe we lag not just in space but on ground too? Thus it wouldn't be a jtl problem only... but I seriously wonder if the problem isn't on my end now... although the 2nd PC is running normally and on the same connection....
I'm all confused now... but I'd be happy if anyone being affected could test out ground too. Keep spamming stuff (/say) or something and see if you lag (I lagged in /tell and /reply as well as guildchat too) on ground too.

I noticed when I have the jumping issue in space, I get the rubberband on the ground. Mostly when on a speeder, I will warp back about 300-600m. The day's I don't warp on ground, I do not get the jumping ships.
I recently had a computer crash and had to reinstalling XP to fix corrupted files, and haven't had a problem since. I will be testing tonight again to see, since I haven't been in space in a couple days.

Yeah, let us know if that fixed it for you, mattygb.
When I crashed, I crashed bad. I posted in another thread, but I ran a scandisk, and my system wouldn't boot. So tonight I have to do a complete wipe, and reinstall of everything.
I defragged last night, and the only files it could move around were SWG files. Including the launchpad files. I should run another and save the file to post here, it's interesting.
I hope after a new, fresh install, my jumping ships won't be back. Otherwise, the WoW open beta was enough to make me want to switch until all these bugs get worked out. After all, it's only another $15 a month, right?

Last night I installed a fresh new version of XP, and reinstalled all my SWG files from download. This morning I logged in and there was no warping.
I will continue to monitor over the weekend, just to see what happens. This post has kinda died, does this mean people aren't having as many problems?

How long of a period were you fighting? I can go for a fair amount of time and experience no warping, but then when it does start happening again it still stays with me for several minutes before the stop in tracks/reaccelerate 'rubberband' effect snaps me back into proper alignment with the server.

Also I should add again that when I tested on TC, oddly enough I never got any warping there either for 45 mintues or so. I plan on spending more time there this weekend though and see if it ever crops up.

Hi!
I have posted on this thread before.
Suddenly one day about 2 weeks ago the game worked fine! And I hadn't done ANYTHING on my side. No configuration changes at all. Everything was working fine this Tuesday. I didn't play anything until today (Saturday) and now the warping is BACK! JTL is totally unplayable. Once again, no changes on my PC.I haven't changed the setup at all since it worked. Why does this happen?? JTL worked fine for 2 weeks!
My conclusion is that this problem with warping enemies (crazy wasps) must be a server side or network problem. So don't bother trying to tweak your PC.
I hope this problem will go away again...

because im having this problem still, and it actually seems much worse since pub11.2
Not sure, but this is getting pretty ridiculous, I hope that they come up with a solution soon....

I no longer have the issue, but I know the pain. So I want this to stay on top-ish!

I spent a little over 3 hours on Test Center Sunday and the problems surfaced there as well finally, most notably after I got done with the slower ships on Tier 1 and progressed to Tier 2 in Lok. The severity was almost identical to what I've been experiencing in live. I both /bugged it as well as made a detailed post in Sundays TC Bug thread. I've also posted on this in the JTL Issues/Bugs thread in the Pilot forum. And I'll continue to harp on this and be vocal about it until the problem is acknowledged as still existing and is resolved. For those of us who this is still affecting, it's game-breaking when it happens.

I noticed, on a quick scan, that most of us with the problem are using XP w/SP2. No hardware seems to be command for all of us, and there is a definite variance in connection type/speed. Sure, most of us seem to be using Athlon XPs and nForce chipsets, but I'd like to think of that as we just all picked good hardware to game on.
I'm half way through the Imperial Pilot tree (well, the easy half, anyway) and unless this gets fixed, that's as far as I'll ever get.

Everything was fine for me after initial install, and I played for a few days until I was 2211 pilot. Although I played SWG, I didnt play JTL for about 7 days, when I did, all ships were warping, and to my friends I was grouped with, I was warping. Five days later, it is still no better. The ticket I sent in referred me to the hardware compatability web page, but I was already up to date with all my drivers. I am due to upgrade my DSL from 512 to 1024 this week, so lets see if that makes any change....
