CSR Paul N.: I am very sorry Mark. The decision has been and we really dont know the reason as to why it was set like that.
Mark Crudgington: ok, so there will be no early releases from HMV or anyone, comments on the JTL disccussion board suggested that HMV were still releasing, against Activisions wishes
CSR Paul N.: I do not have that information. If they release it early then you'll know before me.
Mark Crudgington: ok, thanks for your time. if i can suggest though, it might be of benefit to post something on the forums, so that people over here know what is happening and why, because there are more then a few people starting to think that we dont mean anything to SOE/Activision, just to clear things up.

it's not a matter of shipping the game before the release date.

why not ship the game around the world and then release a date.

and then what, wait for an email, snailmail, phonecall... etc from EVERY store in the world. Cant go live until the store in backwater, france calls us. At some point, you reach a saturation point and the game goes live. Then game must go gold and then 10,000's of CD are made and shipped out. It is the job of the distributer to get the game to the stores.

Ideally, when the game arrives at the stores the servers should go live. Does not make sense that people can buy the game and wait days for other people to get the game. Thus they ship to distributers and since the game CAN get to most US stores on a known day, that is when the game goes live.
