Anywho, if you loot a kickass weapon thats the wrong colour, take it to your friendly local shipwright and have it RE'd. Make sure you ask them to put a green blaster into the tool FIRST, as RE'd stuff will take on the cosmetic appearance of whichever item was placed in first.

But don't you need items of the exact same name in order to RE?

Nope. Only has to be the same RE level.

Does it cost the SW anything to RE a part, like resources, whatever?

no, just the RE tool

I don't really mean to question you, but are you really really sure about this. I was a crafter in beta, not live. If it was changed I have not heard of it.

Positive. So far, we've gotten 3 Firespray schematics, 11 Firesprays total. And the RE'd parts didn't have to be the same name, just the same level.

Most of the weaponry produced by Sienar Fleet Systems will be green (they produce the entire line of TIE ships for the Imperial Navy).

I bought a Sienar blaster with some good stats a while back and it ended up being white and sounding like an X-wing's blasters. All the previous Sienar weapons I got were green and had the correct sound effects however. I guess its just random luck.

I was just hoping someone had a guide so I wouldn't have to do "purchase and hope" trial and error stuff. I'm sure there are probably others (even Rebels) who would like to know this stuff too. (Green beams off an X-wing is just wrong!)

Was it a RE'ed weapon, by chance? If that's the case, the original Sienar component that gave it its name might have been green and TIE sounding, but it ended up taking on the color and sound of two other guns that it was RE'ed with.

Yep, because the shipwright probably put a Disruptor in there first, I take it the gun has abnormally high vs shields/armour stats? Its most likely a good blaster, disruptor and ion thrown together with some crappy blasters to make up the numbers.

looted weapons can be almost any color, I've seen blue, green, red, white, and purple

yes but the color usually signifies a type of weapon. for example blue indicates an Ion weapon, green is usually Sieniar flight systems which makes blasters and red is almost always a MonCal or some sort of Rebellion alligned faction name which is also blasters.
