My manual says nothing about the fact the game is intended for North America play only - and if it was North America play only it wouldnt be released over here. Now on the copies of the programmes you have purchased they say "only for use in North America" in a very small bid to prevent people from mail ordering from abroad. From what i understand it is Activisions fault but they are trying to blame SOE, it's been pushed to 12th November on par with Everquest 2 - but i'm gonna make a prediction, Jump to lightspeed will be pushed back one more week, and even at a paranoid prediction next year.
On www.gameplay.co.uk i spoke to the customer support and they have said that they where told nothing by the distributors apart from the fact that sale has been withheld until 12th November. Now the reasons to why i am annoyed about this development was that I was in Beta. This indicates to me this is a problem with Activision, Lucas Arts arnt really to blame because they deal with the games advertising, contracting and distribution. Lucasarts for the UK and possibly the rest of Europe have "delegated" this role to another company (usually because it's cost effective) and Activision do underestimate Star Wars Games, espescially with Battlefront which sold out quickly. SOE are in charge of the development of the game, support, server maintenance and customers. So in reality this is to do with LucasArts and activision. However talk to LucasArts about distribution or support on Star Wars Galaxies and they will pass you on to SOE, and when it's about Distribution in other countries in europe they will pass you on to Activision. Talk to Activision and from whati understand i have heard they are blaming both LucasArts and SOE. This indicates that somewhere there is a problem and most proberly on Activisions end.
If you have the ability you can mail order it from abroad or go on www.dlgamers.com and buy the key code, however I don't like using anything other than a debit card because Credit cards in my personally opinion are evil, and it's finally at last SOE are now accepting Solo as methods of payment.
Whati think users and customers are annoyed at the most is the fact that SOE do nothing for customers outside of North America, and this is most prob due to shear laziness, i am positive that if they brought out game cards over in England or any other european country there would be an increased customer base. I am also sure that european gamers would be much happier if we are treated as equals to customers in North America. I don't mind having to wait for JTL i can live without it, but i just think SOE/Lucasarts should take there finger out and tell Activison to sort out there distribution - abut alas i know that won't happen. It's a shame that in todays society and internet age they can't give the US and European or any other country an equal date and offers. Thanks for reading if you have.
