Need to have been paying 6 months solid prior to now to qualify. If you cancelled for a month in between you wont qualify.

Not true, you may not qualify for the first day, but once your account becomes active you will get the Yacht then.

Not to go against what the majority of people here are saying, but I don't think they check for breaks in service. I've been playing since August of last year, but I had a four month break in service and just came back. Out of curiosity I logged on to SpaceBeta1 (even though I don't have Beta it let me make a character) and it told me I was eligible for the 360 day reward (the Yacht in other words). I wasn't able to claim it, but it told me that was because I don't have the expansion installed. Also note that when you look at your account data, it says original purchase date, account status and current billing date. It says nothing about breaks in service. It seems to me the easiest way to track who is eligible is to use the same database. You're talking about someone who voluntarily had a multiple month break in service, but suppose someone had a break in service due to credit card troubles or some such. Would it be fair to screw them out of the reward due to database problems? Also, from a customer service standpoint would they want to piss off someone that just decided to give the game another chance?
In any case we won't know for sure until the 27th, but my money is on yes, you will get the Yacht.

I havent read all the post because there 'back and forth' on the subject so
You are considered a Veteran if you have played for 6 straight months at anyone time.
If your acount has been cancled befor you became a veteran for longer then the "grace" period i think it was 6-7 days then you are not a veteran. If you have become a veteran (played for 6 straight months) and canceld your a count for however long then you are concidered a veteran whether or not you cancel.
6 straight months of paying and notplaying or playing and paying you are a veteran...
Edit: rewording a few things

I'm curious on this topic also, I just got back into the game after a couple month hiatus. I started playing in July or August of 2003, but took a couple months off this summer. By some of your posts, I'm not a "Veteran" because of that hiatus.
I'm hoping that RangerMoe has it right, because part of what brought me out of my hiatus is this expansion.

no. you have to be playing for 6 months PRIOR to or after the release of, JTL in order to qualify for the sorosub. This means if you have played since launch, then quit, for a couple of months, and it has not yet been 6 months since you re-activated, you will have to wait for your 6 months to end.
I.E. I started playing at the end of June. This means I will not get mine until the end of december. So, technically, SOE is givin' me a Christmas present.

It doesn't mean by the date you registered on the boards but the day you created the station account. Go into your account tab after logging into the launchpad click edit subscription it will tell you when you orignally created your account and if you have had the account active for six straight months then you will get the Vet ship. even if you didn't play as long as the account was active meaning you paid for access six months in a row then your golden

It does not matter.. the Veteran ship has no guns or combat ability.. there is a post by some dev in one of the public forums. Since it has no combat capability, the only good thing about it is the fact that it does not take up a ship slot. Otherwise.. it is useless unless u are a hardcore RP'er.
All that might be true...but it's such a piece of art.
You can already tell by the screenies in the FF that it's beautiful. But once on board...wow!!!
/Agree I could not agree more, nice looking ship.
