its a top inventory items. They dont want people trading the gear to non aces. Some people that mastered within the first 5 days of jtl release received the ace pilot rewards that were not marked with the top inventory only status. <has prenerf helmet and jacket =P>

Ohhh, great... so I may as well delete my reward items then. I'm a Twi'lek, so I can't wear it... now I can't drop it in my house. I may as well delete it.

The devs need to figure out a way around this. Their current solution sucks.

having taken a C++ class in school, i cant even comprehend how dificult it is to alter a program of this magnitude, so give em a little break. Its not like they flip a switch and its done, or sit down for five mintures and fix it. Takes time to change it, test it, and launch it.

Hmm... well... the Devs could do something like how you try to pick up an item in a house you're not on admin to... you get a message saying something like "you cannot move this object". But for the Ace helmets, if you're not the owner of the item, anyone else who tries to pick up the item (even if they are on admin) will get that message, as if they were not on the admin list.

This is why they did it....

People would place "non-tradable" items into droids, on their personal venders, or dropped in their house to trade them to other people.

That is why this exists. People were trading non-tradable holocrons, people were slicing lightsabers, etc...

So, don't blame the Dev's in this case (you can blame them for plenty of other things if you want.).

This time it is the player base that is to blame for using exploits in order to get around the non-tradable status.

Agree with their methods or not, that is why it exists.

For now, you can display these items inside your multiplayer ship.

Unfortunately this what they had to do to keep people from selling these items for millions on the trade forums.

I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.

Ya know it wouldnt be that hard to do the same thing with these items that they did with the goggles. Make it so no one else can use them but your account. Meaning they cant be traded, you cant pick them up unless your that char. But bottom line, these things I am sure decay which will be annoying but they wont break at 0/0. However I would like to be able to display them in my PA as part of my Imperial Hall of Fame. Umm hello Ace stuff would be the hot item in any museum. I dont care if I can trade them, or put them on another char. If I drop them in my house, I should be the only one who can pick them back up. Thats the bottom line, but I should be able to drop them in the house. This is so simple to fix...

Uhh - last time i checked, you can't drop goggles in a house either, so you're right, it's not hard to do what they did with the goggles - because that's what the did.

I don't know if it extends to personal houses or not, but I have no problem even today droppping mine in my Decimator. In fact, I dropped myFS crystal in my SoroSuub as well, and I don't know if it is supposed to be dropable or not. But my Ace Helmet is sitting in the ship now.

See I am guessing this is a bug and soon enough you wont be able to drop them in your Dec much longer. I say put it down and leave it because I bet it will be changed soon. I also have MANY friends that have ST vendors with armor on them in there Decimator, which they use as Command console officers which look SO COOL! Sad they already stopped people from doing this

Ok so its clear this does work in locations that require lots, why not allow us to drop them in our houses.. This is even more proof its simple to do...

Ok, can you add people to admin on the decimators like you can on the yachts? If thats the case it's gonna leave the same hole that admin to a house left and you could trade them anyway.

I don't see any real way to fix it so the items are nontradable. Nearly everything else in the game is tradeable. Why isn't a helm and jacket tradable?

Make it so you can sell them and then make it so they can be dropped in a house, easy enough.

Huh??

Just last night I dropped my Imperial Ace jacket and helmet on the floor or my house. Made a nice looking little display with it there between

the TIE Pilot suit and AT-AT suit.

There's something odd going on. I dropped them in my house with no problem at all, I assumed everyone could.
