Iff scramble and pirate trap are you friends. Drop the pirate trap and boost out, come back and when he is busy with the pirates try doing some hit and run with them then.

I use Imperial chips instead to take ou the tie aggressors: overload reactor (need the extra energy), overload engines for the speed, overload weapons. When the aggressors appear I go straight for them for a head on attack, target one and shoot. Once they pass me I hit the boosters and keep flying straight or dodge just a bit. The combination of boosters and engine overload will allow you to easily get withing 2k of them before they can turn around for you.

Once you reach 2k distance, turn around and go for another head on pass. The time you spent getting 2 k distance and then turning around is what you'll need to recharge you rear shields (those will be the ones that will be under a lot of pressure) and a weapon overload with decent weapons will allow you to kill an aggressor in 1 to 3 passes (depending on how straight it flies).

I can handle 4 tie aggressors solo that way but 5 is the limite before my rear shields take such a heavy pounding that I can't go through the first pass unscathed. I hope this helps!

What you need is more guns, dog fight, hit after burner to get away from it's turrent as quickly as possible...roll and stuff...600m kill your burner, turn around, repeat. Once you've killed its gun you tail it and finish it off.

About the duty mission, it only gets worse. After that aggressor there's a new wave of the same stuff, then there's two aggressors...that's when I entered hyperspace.

Its really wierd and creepy hearing you guys explain what your missions were compared to mine. When I did this mission with a friend (also corsec privateer), we go the the wp and had a yt-1300 and a devastator to take out, along with the black sun attack craft. When we got there, they were already fighting a lambda shuttle with aggressors. After we finished the YT-1300 and devastator we got a mission complete, and told us to finish the objective. Ok so we finished the lambda shuttle and aggressors and we got another mission complete. then for the next part we had to take out 2 Tier 5 attack craft.

When I did my same mission next, there was everything the same but with the absence of the Lambda and Imperial presence.

Also, on another mission, I think at 3333, I spent an hour facing wave after wave after wave of fighters that kept spawning (I was solo). I was trying to survive the black sun assault. I killed about 30+ waves of fighters. When my friend did his exact same mission. He had 4 wimpy waves and it was over.

I don't get why they were so different. I think it had something to do with the speed that we were killing them at. Since I was taking so long with them when I was solo, I think it just kept spawning. And when we destroyed each wave when grouped and had to wait on the next wave, I think it gave us the actual number of waves that were intended for the mission.

I'm in the smuggler's alliance and I'm doing the lambda shuttle mission. I made it past 2 waves of aggressors and 2 of the decimators. Here's how I managed to fight of most of the aggresors: First, I used the ixyien ship so I could equip and bigger shield and armor. I don't have any rebel chips but after reading some of the previous posts, I'm definetly going to look into that. I do however have imperial chips. I overload my engines and weopons. I come up from the bottom of the aggressors and try my best to stay below the rear turret. I use cockpit view, and I get so close that the the aggressor is off the screen and all I see is the lead target cursor. This helps a lot to decrease the amount of pounding I take. Although, I haven't finished yet, this strategy will help. In the end, I think I'm going to need a group and possibly the rebel shield chips.
