I am absolutely NOT complaining about the ship selection for the Rebels. I think a lot of the lower-tier players have a problem with it, since Tiers 1 and 2 are both Y-Wings, so it seems like you are in a clunker forever. Combine that with the fact that you have to chase down TIEs in the Y-Wing, and it SEEMS as though the Rebel ship selection blows. Personally, I think they should have put the Y-Wing (normal) in Tier 1, the X-Wing in 2, and the Y-Wing Longprobe in Tier 3, but hey. . . I also think they need to strip the Mystery Third Gun off of the X-Wing entirely, so don't listen to me!

What's funny, you know what the best ship against jousting TIE's to use is?

The Longprobe! I was just experimenting, i think im gonna leave my X wing in the hanger for a little bit

As long as you have a GOOD Booster, the Longprobe is excellent for TIE Jousting. I fly a Longprobe anyway, and I enjoy it. No real danger, though sometimes it does take me longer to get all of my kills in. The trick, I think, is to break for your turn BEFORE the TIEs reach you, so they literally fly through your ship from the side/rear. Then they silly little things drop right in front of your reticles.

Pops: "Say about 20 guns, some on the surface, some on the tower."

Annnnnnd, what' wrong with the Awing, the fastest and most maneuverable ship in JTL?

Ummm....

Your Dunelizard and the Tie Advanced will out-maneuver an A-Wing with the same components.

However, the Rebel ships are fine. Now, there*was* some serious skimpage on the Privateer ships that has been rectified.

Simply not true. We already tried that.

I have a friend that has all hard points loaded, a 97 speed engine, and an imperial chip in his droid. His cruise speed is 1200, 1500 with boost, and optimum turning speed is 1002.

Dunelizard or advanced gets no where near that. The Interceptor does, but no Privateer ship can match that.

Maneuverability in terms of sustained turn rates is dictated by the engines. And the speed modifiers for the chasses are the same. The maximum acceleration along the PYR axes is higher for the Dunelizard and the Tie Advanced. The Tie Advanced, especially, outclasses the A-Wing in maneuverability with the same components because of the fact that its acceleration and deceleration modifiers are identical, yet the YPR acceleration rates are almost 20% higher across the board.

I think that the rebs have a nice selection of ships. They are very diverse, or in other words, you can actually tell them apart. Whoever said that the Light Tie, Classic Tie, and Tie/In are the same exept the color were exactly right. The first three imp ships look the same. Plus, the interiors of all the ties look the same. And, the Imp ships don't show external modifications. The reb ones do meaning you can put those sweet engines on the back that sort of look like small Yt-1300 rear engines turned on their side (sorry, don't know their name, ive not done rebel). Keep in mind that these are just the first set of ships and more will likely come.

That's just my 2 Cents.

And to add, the rebs ships don't become crap after you get certs for ones on a higher tier like the imp ones do. =)

My Longprobe is the fastest ship I have because I could fit the huge lvl 7 Engine in it. It hauls at 946 speed. lol

What I would like to see is a big heavy fire power ship at Master lvl with better handling than the B-wing and not needing a crew like the Nova.

I think every faction wouldn't mind seeing that. But, then, that ship would be like the composite armor on the ground...

I realize the numbers are there. But the true testament comes on the player test, just like stats in the ground game.

That's what I'm talking about. Try it. You'll see that the dunelizard is inferior.
