I have adial-up connection (yeah, you gotta love 49.2k!), and I started getting a little worried when it seemed to freeze repeatedly. I restarted a total of three times, but when it "froze" again during the last time I waited (and waited.... and waited...) instead, and it eventually resumed downloading. Although it may seem like an eternity, just be patient when you see it freeze & it'll be fine (probably). Look at it this way, at least you could watch the whole LotR extended edition while you're waiting.... (joking, just joking! It wasn't that bad, really!).

Yah, I had the problem too. Had to keep Ctrl+Alt+Delete and closing the updater, then opening it back up again. It saves whatever it does get downloaded before it freezes, so eventually you'll get all the files. Probably had to close and reopen it upwards of 20 times.

I just closed it and reopened everytime the download froze. Each time it loaded back up it would continue, then freeze. It took about three times for it to finish completely. Nice new launchpad, indeed!

yeah i had the same prob with the launchpad, i thought it wasn't working, so i just left it on, figuring maybe if i left it for a little it would work. it did, took like half an hour and i have a very good computer and DSL (hey, its better than a phone line) but it works if you leave it for a little.

Fixed it. I just had to log on to admin.
