Haden Blackman: It's definitely inspired everyone on the development team. We're very determined to capture the feel of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter titles. In many ways, we're looking at Jump to Lightspeed as "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter" online - much of our focus is on that dogfighting experience.

You were 1 starred by Thunderheart. I love how the developer's votes weigh more then a customer's vote. At 2 votes it was 1 star, I voted 5 stars to see if in fact it was a developer who 1 starred your post, and at 3 votes it still 1 star. I have seen and tested many posts, like this, something isn't right. This means that if the community were to be 100% behind someone, 1 developer can make it appear as though the community totally disagrees with, or does not support that person.

It takes a lot of votes to change a developers 1 star power. Wonderful isn't it.

TH was right to one-star kebernet's trolling post, but generally speaking I agree that the officials around here shouldn't have voting capabilities. All of my posts in the Tech Support forum were mega-one-starred by TSR Chad, and highly unjustly I might add. If a post is deemed innappropriate it should just be deleted, not mocked with an irreversible one-star. Anyways I didn't mean this to be a slight against TH so I apologize if it came off that way.

Back on track, I like what I'm seeing with these space sectors so far .

Well, if they want to delete my posts, as it seems they did, that's fine. Frankly I don't see the point of the whole "stars" popularity contest anyway. If they want to turn it into a referendum on the ideas contained within, thats fine. If they want to delete everything that isn't a "You guys PWNX0R!" post, thats fine too. It's their board.

Frankly, I think the entire visual look of the game is completely antithetical to Star Wars, where even Lucas notes that he always wanted space to be a stark black and white environment that presented a harsh counter to the richness of the planetary scenes. I think putting rocket engines on TIE fighters -- something no other SW game, artwork, even third rate fan film has ever done -- is even worse.

That's my opinion, and I really don't care if they want to listen to it or not.

Though I love how a one line post that says "More stupid blue space" is "trolling" and a one like post of "You guys rock." isn't. You want productive posts, elicit real opinions on either side.

But if space looked the same everwhere it would look boring and it would look ugly.

What is wrong with making space look nice as long as the game plays well and you need somthing other than spcae battles to look at with your yacht .

I won't get into whether the game plays well. However, "being Star Wars" is up there on the list of priorities. Frankly, if they had just given a couple of the "extreme" locations this treatment, fine. However, go back and watch even the re-re-re-edited ROTJ and tell me if space was blue around Endor.

maybe there was a large gravitational flux from the stars insystems close to endor.. pulling away the gas and by the time Jedi rolled around... it was all gone..Thats just my opinion.. I could be wrong.

As long as it looks like space who cares.
