I must be lucky, my favorite servers (Sunrunner and Naritus) are still quite populated. I took six months off from playing on Naritus and upone return almost everyone I interacted with is still there, few in space though. Sunrunner has to be the friendliest galaxy I have ever been on, and lots of people in space.
As for WoW, it holds no interest for me. EQ2? Tried it, hated it, decided not to leave SWG for it. If we can get the information about the recent changes out there I bet many people will start returning to SWG. The devs have been doing excellent work lately.

wat makes me sick, is when i go into space theres like noone in space. you would think space would be filled.

The problem is there is nothing to do in space. Even PvP is lame. They need to make tours of duty that may involve PvP (IE: The imperials are given their tour, and the rebels get their own and there is conflict between the two) but mainly, giving us objectives like the original Xwing and Tie Fighter games did.

I've recently returned after I quit one year ago. The changes made in the game are starting to bring folks back. 
P.S. Most people I've talked to, who were addicted to EverQuest and bought EQ2, claim that EQ2 is an awful game. EQ2 hasn't taken a toll on SWG. In fact, WoW probably has more players than EQ2.

I came back from wow, simply because it got boring as hell at lvl 60.... i tried the eq2 trial and that SUCKED.. so i now playswg jtl with a little source on the side, and i play wow with my friends for fun, only ganking.
in the end, they're gonna come back to swg. the main reason i did tho, is cause i still have lots of bling bling cash flow on my char, and i got all the player rewards and such.

Well I'll be a little nastalgic for a bit here.
I remember when i first bought the game back in 2003 how fun the game was. When i used to stand outside the Mos Eisley cantina to group up with ppl to do squil hunts or other high end hunts. Those were fun! It was the fun of grouping and using team work to tackle those tough monsters.It was during the heat of battle that was cool, all thepeopleworking together to take down those bad ass monsters that rocked.Back then having a good medic in the group was an absolute necessity. We wouldn't leave town without one.
I also remember seeing people show up with some of their factional pets (usually rebels) and thinking wow thats cool I want some of those. They would have them patrol around the camps (remember using camps?) to guard us while the doctors/medics would heal us and the entertainers would heal our minds.
Now its all about solo grinding for Jedi...man what a waste of a game...

WOW is fun i play that too, just it's too easy! Level 60's in 9 days of the game coming out in europe! All the server queues and how they could be releasing a new version to skip queues is :\
This game has everything to make it great, what killed it for me is:
- How you need money to do anything! People who have lots of money win :S Buy the best armor and buffs then you can level up pretty fast which i thinks unfair anda stupid way of doing things! I have no money, try to make money butother ppl take the business away from meJtls it's not based on skill but who has the most money can buy the better ship wins!
I really hope thats changed.
Also how the missions are boring and all the unbalance of combat and everyone leaving, it' empty now

lol PS sucks. the bfrs didnt ruin it for me, what ruined ps is that the ZERG doesnt listen to you when you WANT them to and when you NEED them to.
