Thread: I have a bad feeling about this...

Has anyone even read what the CEO of SOE has said about the CURB? He posted that most of the playerbase of SWG is giving very positive feedback about the CU. He thinks we like it! Somehow the feet is are not communicating to the brain that the body is treading on hot coals here.

I grew up with StarWars as well and when I found this game I had to play just b/c it was STARWARS! I mean what better reason was there. Now it isn't going StarWars anymore, it's just going to be EQ2 with a different, copyrighted name; nothing more. Another account closed :`(

Nitwit's right, according to the in-game TC SWG correspondant SOE wants players who will puchase the game ($50), the expansions ($30, $25)and play 30 days +1 and quit ($15). They want them to move from MMO to MMO buying the boxes and paying for a month and quitting to move to the next one. SOE controls overhalf of the servers that MMORPG's play on. If you quit one they don't care b/c there's a greater chance you'll just move to another one of their games anyway. Money is money, doesn't matter whos paying or where it's coming from.

Those that have been here since beta are just paying for the server maintenance. All the vets value is gone b/c they are no longer a big money maker for SOE therefor the vets opinion's do not matter. This info was staight, almost word for word, from an SWG correspondant.

Just recieved word, (while I was typing this) from another SWG player and good RL friend who was reading the Armorsmith forums, that the AS forums has been locked up and the Armorsmith correspondant has been fired from SOE for suggesting that a petition be put out to the community to fix the CU. I guess he broke rule #1

Rule #1 SOE is always right

Rule #2 If you disagree with SOE, refer to rule #1

Btw: for those in TC, the Dev's will not listen to any of your comments unless you have mastered at least 1 elite profession. Correspondants words as well, paraphrased from a longer version.

All this info came straight from a SWG correspondant (minus the Armorsmith part), so I figure if he can say it directly tocommunity players it's legal repeat to the community players. Enjoy.

The two links in my signature will help you express your distaste of the new game and support of the one we've spent nearly two years improving. Please make use of them if they apply to you.

Cheers.

THIS IS AN AWESOME POST.. DEVS READ HERE OR YOU ARE DOOMED.. sorry about the caps lock but this is a very good post.. and you are very right about wow, i went and bought it saturday and it made me realize what ive been missing for the past year ive been wasting my time on this game.. maybe ill come back but its very doubtfull given the length this game has been up. i would like to say again this is a very good post but its a shame it will go upon deaf devs who care nothing about us. ive canceled 10 of my accounts and going to be cancelling the other 2 very soon. too little too late for me i think

maybe they will rethink once they loose 70% of the community, then and only then will they realize we were right. but they have this mentality that we will keep paying them for expansions and our monthly fee no matter the bs they throw at us

Can someone, anyone, please PLEASE tell me that they have found level appropriate smuggling missions for any CL's over 30 anywhere in the NGE testing?

'Cause if not, then I have a really bad feeling about this...

We loose:

-spice crafting (hate it, but it does make the profession unique, and does at least lend itself to roleplaying)

-slicing (I actually really enjoy slicing, since it gives me an opportunity to interact with other players and to make the credits my toon needs)

-some really stylish (if not very effective)combat specials, i.e. Feign, last ditch.

-the ability to change our toons prof at will

-a whole lot of credits (and thus time) investedin weapons, armor, slicing components, whatever

We Gain:

-the ability to have a random NPC come help us out in a fight (huh, kind of like the henchman thing except, not. At best a really watered down version of ANY of the henchman concepts anyone came up with)

-the ability to be a portable junk dealer.

-a whole freaking lot of jedi.

So please, if anyone has found any of these missions, then please let me know. Otherwise, we're not getting 'em. I mean, I've actually read the history posts stickied at the top of this page. How many times have the devs said "we just need to implement this new system/expansion, then it will be really easy for us to focus on smugglers"? Seems like every time they implement a new system/change, they say that. And seems like it hasn't happened yet.

So if smuggling isn't here in a level appropriate, repeatable system in the NGE as it appears on test center (and I mean real smuggling,NOT glorified delivery missions), then it seems to me we'regiving upwhat little we had as"Smugglers", arenot really getting anything in return exceptempty promises from people who have NEVERfollowed through on any of the many other promises they have madeto this community.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)
