Also, I know this is off-topic, and I shouldn't be pointing this out, but in your name, the Roman numeral doesn't exist.
XIIII <--non-existent. It's written XIV. 14.
I: The numeral one. II is two, III is three. You seldom see IIII as 4, since IV can also mean 4, plus its shorter to write
Found by accident when converting numbers into roman ones.

One word: group. Storm Squadron's missions are really hard, and it took 4 of us an hour and a half to get through that one. But it can be fun if you have a good group with you.

What some of the other said: grab a friend or two to help out. I'm RSF. One of my missions was like that. I forget which one, but I had to escort a scanner ship in Endor spacefor a while. Trouble was it kept flying me through spawns of wandering damage. I could handle the mission spawns just fine; I could handle the wandering damage spawns just fine.
But the two together would slowly overwhelm me as I couldn't dispatch the ships fast enough on my own. Tried it solo twice and wracked up some good credit and xp totals, but failing the mission and not advancing was becoming annoying. So I talked to a couple of friends and asked them if they would come along and help with wandering damage aspect. With thier help ( could have done with just one extra fighter even) the mission and random spawns were easily handled and the mission itself became reletively easy.
Good luck to you.

Ihad problems with the same mission , all those none mission tier4 spawns kept interfering and made it extremely hard.
I wish they made the missions seperate so you could do them 1 at a time or atleast make it so people aren't stuck infront of the computer for 2 hours plus.
Inside various game manuals it is recommended that people take a break after 45 minutes of playing because sitting infront of the computer staring at the monitor intensly for long periods of times is documented to be unhealthy and can in some circumstances cause seizures, and since SWG is a MMORPG it doesn't have a pause button, so players are in a way forced to risk their health to become an ace pilot.
Holycow thats realism

heheh yeah i was so frustrated with this one too... i did like like 6 times... all in the ending stages.... over 2 hours each... i almost died... but good thing is that i learnt to avoid non-mission spawns.. and how to get out of a hotzone quick by jumping once you know the odds are impossible..
You can always jump back in with recharged shields or repairs and carry on.

Firstly I do have to say this: you really need to ask for help and group. It makes it more fun, easier, and makes everyone happy (including the devs).
Secondly I heard that if you get a new objective you can hyperspace out, land, and even log without failing the missions so long as you did not recieve the (You must complete this mission before leaving the sector) message. I havn't tested this myself but it sounds logical.
Good luck though!

Bring some friends. This problem you are having is common to many squadron missions.

No such thing as "free boxes" for tier 3. You have to bust your ass doing those crummy missions which if you fail even at the very end you have to re-do them.
This is not free! Free is getting them for nothing, thats free.
