The turret looks like four barrels... but it's only actually one weapon. Decimator and YT have two projectile hardpoints and two missiles.





I know that.... It was my suggestion to make POB ships more capable in combat. And they have 3 missile slots.

Id love a forward firing hardpoint on my YT.. for the pilot. And yes, something needs to be done with Shields+Armour, vs values on Fightercraft. Maybe just x2 if the same piece is mountnd on a POB?

I think I know alittle about Star Wars, having read most of the books in the series, and the MF is used as a combat ship. Now in the books of course, the MF is highly modified, but what do you think is being done to them in SWG? 1. I made a Mark V motor with 109.1 speed and Pitch/Yaw 67.8 and the YT1300 is a slug, even with Engine Overdrive 4. Moves like a Hutt on the gravsled. From what I have read in the books if my motor is on the high side I should be able to fly mine like the MF. 2. In PvP 2 shots and your relaoding, something needs to be done to Shield amounts and Armor amounts in the POB ships. 3. In the books and movies your see that Han in a gunfight usually is flying pretty straight, that is so his gunners can do there job. IE, back to problem #2 4. The MF in the books and movies has slave capability with its guns, this means that you don't need someone in the turrents to fire them. You can lock them in the forward position to use it like a fighter. This would be nice so you don't have to get 3 or more peeps to go with yaa. 5. Weapons, you should be able to put 2 Weapons in each Turrent since they are Quad gun implacments. This would raise the firepower and make the ship more formidible. My 2 cents..

Now back to the Y-8 changes. The Y-8 as a mining ship just plain sucks. Here are some sugjestions I have for it.
1. Lower the top speed but improve the manuverability so you can chase the rocks down easier.
2. You need to be able to lose the cockpit view for easier rock chasing.
3. As a ship of this size you should be able to tractor beam the first rock you shoot off the main one with out having to break it up.
4. And a couple more gun implacments for protection from pirates would be nice also
5. As for using the Y-8 as a fighting ships, it should just be one big target. Why in your right mind would you want to use this huge ship to fight with???? It is just a Mining ship.
6. Instead of putting out a Hot Fix to fix the candle bug,,,, why not fix the Y-8 mission bug???? Or any of the other mission bugs that are out there??? Oh, but I guess the Candle bug was causing way to many houses to burn down.....

This my point, whatever way you slice it (pun intended) your YT-1300 is not the MF. It never will be. You may as well aspire to own a Death Star. It is an iconic ship of the movies and books, and it wouldn't be THAT iconic, if everyone could have one like it right out the factory would it?

The YT-1300 is a FREIGHTER. They don't even have turrets as standard on the initial model if you read the books - your lucky to get that!


I agree that customisations should lead to a more MF-style YT, but thats more down to components being more advanced rather than the ship itself.


Also, imagine the gameplay changes if you had a ship which can have two turret placements and a front gun, suddenly being able to spin on a dime. It would own everything and unbalance the game.


If you played X-Wing Alliance, you'll KNOW the difference between a stock YT and the MF. If they add the next models, the YT-2000 (known to be slightly more agile) and the YT-2400 (better still) I think it would add more to the game without ruining the balance too much.


Just remember that your YT-2400 is not going to be the Outrider!

I would hope it makes it a good PvP ship. I'm so tired of interceptor fights. Let's get something out there an A-wing can't blow up in two shots. There is nothing for anyone but interceptors to do in PvP right now.

The answer is two-fold.


1) Already mentioned but the larger vessels need more shields and armor. I don't know about ten times more. That would be unfiar. But they do need to compete with the faster ships with more durability. The fact that their mass is so extreme alone should lend them more armor rating.


2) Guns need to be revamped on these. Turrets are fidgety are hard to shoot unless sitting still. Gyro turrets are the answer. The decimator and nova need more guns, maybe not more player turrets,but mounted guns in different firing arcs that can be controlled by special droids. Just like in X-wing Alliance where you could set your turrets to A.I. fire.


Players should WANT to fly these badboys.

Well... What would you prefer 5 People working coordinated in a POB.. or 5 People in their 5 Fighters?


See.. You need to make the POB good enough to WANT those 5 People not fly their Fighters...
