We were never told what the 2 year reward for vet players is going to be, they forgot to mention it at FF, but this might be it.

A new incoming POB ship ? Nice. But we have already two or three CEC ships. I would like an other design, a ship from an other corporation

If they destroy the YT-2400 by making it a 2 year vet reward as in without weapons or other upgrades, I will be major league pissed. If it is a 2 year vet reward that can do combat however that's fine by me, however it is supposed to be the newest ship in the YT series and should be more common than say the Yt-1300.
On another note It is the most requested ship in the game at the moment, so no let it be brought in. It makes more people happy than the few people who don't want it

Actually, the YT-2400 is a new, and very expensive, model during this time. The 1300 would be more common becase its older and cheaper. Kind of like comparing a new car to a mid 90's model.

At Fan Fest we interviewed the Art Dev for Lok Pirate Radio, some of you might have caught that.
Anyway they have a lot of ships in the works but have to be quiet about it.
basically when we asked him about a specific ship all he would say is "Cant say." with a smile.
some of the ship's we asked about are
The Naboo ships (starfighter, yacht, etc)
TIE Defender
Lambda
YT-2400
Capital ships (but of course we know this now)
and lots of EU ships

YT-2400? /shrug
Just anothermultiplayer ship that will be, in all likelihood, clumsy, slow, undergunned, manpower overdemanding, inefficient at everything, and as easy to hit as a Star Destroyer. I'd rather have a gunship with co-pilot commands integrated into the pilot's seat.
And that is if it works properly when launched. SOE's recent track record for bug free implementation hasn't exactly been stellar.

Bar, remember the Cyberarm Models in the Jedipatch. everone hopes they would be in, but they were just the parts for the Village Exit Quest Boss. The Arms were just added in the Kashyyk expansion FOR PLAYERS.
the Yt-2400Probably just flies around in one mission...

To be perfectly honest I'd prefer the YT-2000 (Otana) over the YT-2400 (Outrider).
If it's true they have many new ships in the pipeline/under development and that they are intended as player ownable and not just for NPCsthen that's great news, I always thought that there should be a greater diversity of ships out there, obviously when it comes to imperial/rebel fighters there should be not much choice, the two are military and quasi-military forces.
What ever we get eventually I hope they're more widely available, I don't believe any POB ship that's non-military in nature should be restricted to any one faction they should be as accessible as buying cars really, or trucks as that's there modern day equivilient!

I think the yt-2400 is a good idea, but what I REALLY wish they would do is at least allow the guns on the POB ships to be slaved forward. I know many say this is an unfair advantage in pvp because of the extreme firepower of POB weapons (mine do nearly 5000 dmg each) but, if anyone things a Yt-1300 has any kind of advantage against a JSF in PVP (unless the JSF is stupid and goes head to head) they're nuts. The POB ship would never get its guns on the little ships. My other idea is that they allow a new type of craftable item in the specialized targeting computer or 'droid brain.' This would breath life into the nearly dead profession of Droid Engineer, as well as making the POB ships more useful. I propose that the 'droid brains' be certified the same as astromech droids and that they increase in AI accuracy as you progress (though never reaching the accuracy of a good human gunner). I think this could be fun, and interesting. What do you think? I also believe that the KSE Firespray should be a POB ship. Even without gunner positions I think it should have a copilot, as well as a fully designed vertically stacked deckplan. That would be so cool.
