No Chimaera is still busy it's just with the player cities growing in numbers a lot of the players who used to hang around the preset cities have slowly migrated away. Some players are now spending time in other games as well as SWG so their time here is shorter or they have left completely for these games but some of those are returning. Plus some left and are planning to return once the combat update is done.
JTL has made a small difference to the numbers on the ground as with the length of some of the missions these players can be away for 60-90 minutes in space on a mission, whereas on the ground they will return to a city to retake a mission making the city appear busy with people using it.
The ground pvp seems to be on hold waiting until the combat update before it kicks off again as i know a lot of my guild are waiting on this happening before startingagain.
The main businesses for players now areincreasingly becoming centralised in big malls with collections of crafters coming together to raise their profile by being attached to a known mall to increase their business. Unlike the beginning where one crafter could run a small shop and get known for it but a lot of players now don't spend the time travelling around for the good deals and tend to use a large mall through word of mouth saying it's good.
We are still here on Chimaera but the server has slowly changed towards player cities now from the situation early last year when it was all based around the preset ones.

As has been stated before. The Jedi issue has had more to do with servers being empty than anything else. They listened to a vocal minority (AS SOE often dose) and not Raph Koster. I know five entire PA's who have quit and will not come back until Jedi numbers are greatly reduced. There is also a grassroots movement forming to persuade SOE to bring back Jedi perma death, and to have the Emperor start aggressively hunting Jedi. Most folsk know that SOE dosen't really want the game to be more "Star Warsy" if they did this wouldn't be an issue.

The devs will not back and do anything to reduce the Jedi numbers. The truth is the servers were getting light waaay before we started to have the Jedi problems.
The devs were making bad choices from the beginning. I remember being a Noob novice Marksman and everytime I went overt in Bestine which was supposed to be the imperial stronghold I would get attacked and killed by the Rebel players. That kind of stuff was discouraging when the Rebels could run wild in the Imperial Capital because the devs did not have the balls to make the Storm Stoopers patrolling more stronger and add some AT STs. Then they nerfed the AT ST into a walking pile of junk further discouraging the Imperial players. Once the Imperials stopped going overt then there was no one for the majority Rebel population to fight. With no very little pvp action the GCW died and pleople started to leave. I remember from the first month people saying the Imperials should have a much stronger presence in the game but the spineless devs were too afraid of annoying the Rebel players. They tried to please everyone and ended up pleasing very few. Now in today's patch they are talking about increasing the firepower of the Imperial Crack down Storm Troopers! Why now? Why did you ignore us when we requested this in August,September of 2003? Why is it you waited until the game is almost two years old and the NPC STs are a major joke before you finally did something? This is just the factional sides of things. They did a lot of other stupid things..

See this just isn't true. Tiggs has said in Chat that they were looking at adressing the Jedi Population explosion. They know if they don't the game is going to die. I'm betting it will be in the form of Bringing back Perma death and Saber TEF. You can see what they have coming by looking at the New Imperial Crackdown on the test server. Jedi numbers are going to get nerfed sooner or later.

And that is chnaging with the New Imperial Crack down.

Yep they did, and the folks who did those stupid things aren't at the wheel anymore. Who knows why they took so long, why keep crying over past mistakes. If they are addressing the issues (Which it appears they are doing) Those playing will stay, and some of those who left because of X will return. SOE knows they have a year to make the game work or Lucasarts will take it over. They are doing the right things More developers, More content, adding SWG to all Access, Making the Imperial Crackdown mean something and yes even though you refuse to belive it Culling the Jedi herd. They have to get these issues solved, and the subscription base up before Lucasrts green light EXP II. I am usually one of SOE biggest critics, but I am giving them credit for trying to fix the blunders of the past.

Sorry to hear that about yer server MoonFlyer. On lowca i know we lost a small amount of folks recently but the number of new players to the game FAR outweighs those that left. LOTS of new blood. Theres also a pretty heavy use of JTL on Lowca as well, which is nice.

Thanks guys for all the advice.
I guess its just down to continued playing, and hoping the developers listen to what their player really want, as opposed to what they THINK we need.
I suppose a more sustained advertising campaign wouldn't bring in more players??
Hmm me thinks possibly not! LOL

The devs already felt the bite, and it was deep. They started 2005 off right, and as it all seems...are progressing in the right direction. Just took some motivation
It seems that way, even with the server downage, this patch has filled me with confidence in the future if every patch has this much extra stuff in it we will all be happy as pigs in mud in no time ![]()
as for good old flurry it seemed to get a bit light for a week or to over christmas but business is back and raring now, there are very few significant abscences as far as i can tell.

You have to understand that now almost two years later they're finally running to implement things that should of been done long ago. I guess they finally realized that people have had just about enough their empty promises and have started a mass exodus out of here.
They've killed just about every profession with idiotic nerfs and such.
The situation with the armors should of been done from jump street, not now. Having to be overt to wear factional armor or even an Imperial hat is ridiculous.
Another thing is the mounts, you needed to have ch just to be able to use a mount for mere transportation. Once again they killed the starwars feel.
If I were to continue I'd be here a long time pointing the obvious but....
I guess they think everyone is naive enough to think things will change for the better. Of course you always see a few people jump for joy upon seeing what they intend to do but like they say...Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
