Thread: We need a JTL Correspondant

Iam not against having a JTL corro. But I think you could make the same case FOR a "business and economy" and a "core systems" one. I would gladly work with one if the Dev's decided to put one in. I would also gladly work with you all in making sure that these frindge issues get raised if not
There is a core systems correspondant. There are two core systems forums though (which is silly) and there is a player association correspondant. I agree, there probably should be a "business and economy" correspondant too. I am not wanting your job to be dimished into nothing MonsofoLexius, but rather give it more focus. I feel that too much is being handled in the pilot forum, and too much is being ignored by the devs in the JTL forum. We need to focus our efforts.
It was only 8 months ago that everyone in this forum was asking for a JTL correspondant. There are too many good points being made in this forum to go unheard by the devs, and too much overlap with the pilot forum. I just felt that focus was needed, but I guess I was wrong. It is all our losses I guess.

- Posts that are the realm of pilots or shipwrights.
- Are asking for new ships and missions (and don't think these go unnoticed by me)
- The fun "fluf" posts. IE fuzzy dice, what is your ship named, etc.
- Requests for general help
If you look at the "issues" brought up here they usually include:
- PvP (do nothing/do something) and I usually always take part in these on both forums now.
- Making POB ships worthwhile (also a pilots focus thread, and I do post in these too)
- Better integration of the Ground game
I think it acually hurts us to have things so segmented. The same discussions take place on both boards all the time. And just to ensure those that are reading here that these issues are being heard I am going to post a copy of the current Pilots issues thread here:
- Post Master Content
Pilots have a great quest based system to reach master. After reaching master there is very little content for us. Most of the other profession's content is non-mastering based and is exciting after master level. Many pilots have reached over 100 million in prestige. Our focus thread on adding to the post-master content of pilots. Many would say "more ships, more ships, more ships" for players to fly. - NOTE: It looks like NO FS trade is wanted by the majority.
- Some use for prestige points at a huge cost in the millions
- 1 time use schematics for ships, components, sub-components, faction clothing, etc.
- Items like POB ship furniture, special textures, and the list goes on...
- Ground game linking
- Category 1: Master Missions. Ground/Space based missions maybe even some based out of POB ships
- Category 2: More GCW links to Ground for all pilots
- Master level space missions
- Kessel run and other cannon and EU based theme missions
- Beefed up pilot missions from your master pilot trainer. I.E. Take a T4 mission, move it to Kessel. Move all ships to T5 craft and increase the spawn rate. Make it a good challenge.
- POB Ships "The Big3" YT, Decimator, Nova
The Big3 "should be fortresses" but currently are under defended in both PvE and PvP. The general feeling is that they should be worth about 2 to 3 times the other master level ships in combat. Currently they are almost less effective then 1 Krayt/Oppressor/B-wing (well maybe not so much the B /wink) A little work to the Big3 could add to post master content and make these ships a viable and well used part of JTL. Our focus thread and some related and unrelated ideas from the community. - Add a defensive modifier to POB ship chassis for both PvP and PvE
- Add a second reactor/shield/armor slots (many feel this is still not enough alone). Double up the weapons in turrets and give them each a capacitor
- Reloading missiles in space from a console
- Better use of co-pilot/pilot relationship. Add more functionality to co-pilot or allow pilot to run droid commands. Currently the co-pilot chair is a very boring place to be most of the time. Even going as far as making the co-pilot the "theater of battle" commander for the groups fleet making the Big3 a nice addition to a battle by adding the ability to "flag" targets for all in group and other ideas.
- Add special HUGE mass subcomponents for SW to be put in shields and armor that significantly increase armor/shield hitpoints. Heavy enough that they can only be placed in the Big3.
- Fix the reverse-steering on booster shut down
- Add a 3rd missile slot to the YT
- Droids and commands
Some work is needed in the area of droids and droid commands the pilots think. Many droid commands do not have a "down side" and take away from the great feel of balancing in JTL like the mass-component, energy-mass, and firepower-capacitor recharge.- WO3. Weapon overload 3 increases damage output but does not increase energy per shot. Many pilots feel that this is unbalancing in PvP and would go along way to making PvP more fun.
- Fixing this would also make the pre-nerf/patch/exploited shields even more of an issue in PvP. On some servers is has been said these shields are in widespread use.
- The ship status menu in-game {V} does not update with new values after a droid command are run. Updated values for energy, damage, etc would be a nice addition
- Renaming Flight Computers. Can not be renamed after in datapad and any custom names crafted by DE's are reverted to the generic names once loaded in datapad.
- The fire-dummy-missile command. Many feel this is a neat little option to have in space. It is used as our space emote to friends, and to altert foes to our presence. HOWEVER it is also used in many situations to lower your opponents frame rate or send them CTD. Adding a 45 second timer or removing would fix this (IMHO).
- The Rebel commands are very much under-used now. The addition to Privateers brought them in line with the Imperials and tended to leave the Rebels on the low end. One suggestion was to shorten the timer on shield adjust to allow for more "on-the-fly" adjustments and make the rebel commands more sought after.
- Current group missions
- Mission length: Some of the missions (can you say Storm Squadron or Corvette Master) are close to 2 hours in length. This can make it hard to find help on missions as well as make it difficult to offer help many times. Some method of "staging" longer missions and more reliable Corvette timers would be nice. The corvettes will also not likely spawn if the Gunboats or Fighters are milling around at the exit points, most pilots do not know this and can spend 6 hours, very frustrated, unsuccessfully waiting to make master.
- Add in the ability for group to see mission waypoints.
- PvP and lack of players in deep space
Deep Space is dead on most servers. There is very little PvP going on across the board.- PvP ranking system. Some type of ranking system for PvP kills would give many a reason to participate more often.
- PvP Damage. The posters on the forum are very divided on this issue. Many feel that fixing WO3 will be all thats needed or that they "can not tell" until after this is fixed. But it is safe to assume that PvP in space consists of 1 volley 1 kill or is very close. There can be a HUGE ammount of skill involved getting those 1 or 2 shots in. But this "discussion" continues to pop up on the JTL and Pilot's forums from time to time with many of the same themes.
- PvP currently is "reserved" to those who have mastered, or are on their second or third master but still "in-tier". Only masters are allowed in our only "non-decay" area for PvP. Suggestions of adding a second PvP zone (like the old kessel with 3 opposed factions) in-addition to kessel (or where ever the master mission are not run) would allow non-master to participate. A majority of the PvP-enabled players not in deep space are A) farming faction or B) looking for those who are farming faction.

(Talking about that in many of the PvP threads going on and is covered on the POB ship stuff, SDI and more. I fail to see where this is missed)Making missles more effective in PvE, and still have their place in PvP. (Bring it up!!! we need more input on thosse threades, I also think they should be more usefull in PvP, but thats me. And this does come up in the PvP discussions on both forums fyi, so not missed IMHO)balances between PvP and PvE (weapons do way too much damage, but then again, NPCs have way too much shields). (Major issue and talked about all the time both on the JTL and pilots forums and I think I am a part of most all the treads, once again I fail to see where this is missed and a top 5)I am sure there is more. On the JTL side, there is the fact space is small (it is way to quick to reach the server bounderies). There is not much to do in space other then fight (Though space mining is a start). ( #1 pilot issues, also not missed fyi)Loot rates have been greatly reduced which takes away what little satisfaction one has flying in space. (brought up many times, and mostly shown to be just a "bad hit" to the loot tables, not missed or "nerfed")The addition of guild wars into space (I have these issues allready raised in the PA forums [look at the wish list threads] and in the corro forums, not missed BTW this would be a PA issue as much as a Pilot one, and I have ALLREADY raised it as such).etc... Right away, by separating, we are doubling our top 5and reducing overlap.
Now don't get me wrong, as I have stated before I am NOT against a JTL Corro, I just am still waiting for a good argument IMHO

So here is a question for you. Is the NPC invulnerable from the top or botton an issue with the pilot profession? Is has been in the past but has not had much steam recently. I think that lag (or client/server sync more specificly) had more to do with making the front/rear damage zones more visibile. Is this still as much an issue today as it was 3 months ago??
Is an exploit where 200k credits is looted from a deepspace station a pilot issue? The "Last Nav" stations or the ISD and Rebel Stations? But yes both would be IMHO (Using the ground corro's and their relation to ground looting and exploit issues as an example)
Is a graphical issue in space a pilot issue? This is one where I could see on a JTL coro list. But I don't know if there are enough of these to give enough meat to a new posistion. No more then on the ground. There is also no related ground corro for these types of issues as well.
Is the difficulty of NPCs an issue with the pilot profession? I would think so, and we talk about it a fair amount in the pilot forums. Being harder for masters and breaking up the longer missions a bit for the non-masters
I would define a pilot issue anything that is an issue in their profession tree and issues with pilot missions (ones generated to go up levels). If it has nothing to do with the going up the Pilot profession or using of the pilot abilities and certs then it is a JTL issue. The same argument could be made for every profession and having a "core systems" corro. All the Corro's wear a few hats, for example, the Doctor Corro being involved/concerned/etc with both organic and non-organic resource spawns and the effect on Doctors.
Do you agree MonsofoLexius?

Not entirely true, they do have a blind spot, once ya find it....
On about 1 of 8 Aggs I take out they don't land more then 1 or 2 shots on me ![]()
You should get your facts straight. Rothin is the correspondant for the Player Association and Grouping forum, which is under core systems. And KStarFire is the correspondant for the Core Systems forum.

I still fail to see this. my previous post shows that I think
Here is the question. Do you think that there are more then 5 issues that JTL has? If so, wouldn't it be better to specialize and get two top 5, one for pilot issues, one for non pilot issues? This forum is without focus, the Pilot forum is a diminshed version of this forum (because it is hidden from direct view) but has a correspondant to focus the group. This forum needs focus, or it will suffer the same fate as the SWG General Discussion forum - deletion. This forum is not a general SWG discussion forum, but it is being used as one. It needs focus, hence why I am looking for people interested in bringing focus.
