What's your profession?
I've been a Master Smuggler for along time, so it only made sense to me to fly for the Smuggler's Alliance (Privateer).

Is the B-wing a multi-passenger ship? I've always been fond of rebel ships, and I like the rebel suit and helmet you get when you master pilot.
Does a freelancer get the black suns helmet, I saw a picture once, it looked like the BH helmet. You get a rebel helmet? When did they change that? As of the Sunday before beta went down you only got the Flight Suit. No, the Bwing is not multi passenger the only MP ships on the rebel side is Ywing (regular version NOT longprob) and the Nova.
If you read JtL threads, you would of seen the imperial helmet and rebel helmet.

All 3 professions get a Master MP ship. The Rebels get the NovaCourier, the Imps the Decimator and Freelance get the YT-1300, so Rebel, in my opinion is better than Freelance as you get a Master Heavy Fighter, a MP ship and better droid commands/Specail abilites.
A couple of links so you can check it out:

I was an Imperial, but I'm unhappy as an imperial. Imperials are sexist and racist. I was an imperial pilot in the beta, didn;t like it.

I'm having the same problem... But with Imp or Freelance.
I had just signed up with the Freelance because I wanted to get out of the Imp/Rebel war for a while. But I just found out that the Freelance training involves going into Jabba's Palace and I have -5000 faction with him.
Either I'm going to have to do a lot of Valarian killing or I'm going to have to drop Freelance and go with Imp.
I'm currently a Rifleman/Bounty Hunter and considering switching to Smuggler depending on how the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler revamps go. And as far asI can see Freelancer is geared for Smugglers.

Well, do you want to directly oppose the Empire (Rebel) or be a kind of mercenary (Freelance)? Do you want an X-Wing or a YT-1300? I have one char as Rebel and one as Freelance so I didn't have to choose.
Stephon_Odom wrote:But if Freelance cant PvP...whats the point?
Freelance can most certainly PVP. When they enter Kessel or Deep Space, I believe there is an option to choose what side you want to fight for. I don't think there are Freelance space stations to go overt in any of the PVE zones though. Could be mistaken as I never looked.
You cant compare an x-wing to a multi passenger ship

True BUT privateers can get the firespray it does require 8 special loot drops and a master shipwright to reverse engineer for the schematic (makes 8 ship blueprints then the schematic poofs).

You dont have to go to jabba for the freelance Pilot training, you can go Corsec on Corellia or RIS on Naboo (i think - not sure really - didnt bother with the 3rd trainer).
You still level up the Freelance Pilot tree working for these guys, but you dont have to worry about Hutt faction points (in fact if you work for Corsec, you can kill even MORE hutts!)
Another advantage of Corsec over Jabba is that the trainer is only 200m or so away from Coronet starport, meaning quick mission turn arounds and plenty of shopping opportunities for Ammo/Chaff reloads etc.
Personally I wouldnt bother with Frelance unless you really want to have a YT-1300 or really love the blacksun/Hutt fighters.
Freelance pilots droid commands are garbage(Reactor Overload - unless you've got a damaged reactor its uselss), and their special abilities are nothing special, especially compared to Imperial or Rebel ones, plus Freelance Pilotsdon't get a Heavy Fighter at Master while the Rebels get the B-Wing & the Imps get the Oppressor. (contrary to popular belief the Firespray is NOT a ship unique to Master Freelance pilots - it is pilotable by all masters pilot -rebel, imp or Freelance)
