i think i better explained myself on this post here awhile ago:

Ive seen this in action, other pilots whos opinion i respect have noticed the same results. (IE Flying circles around someone and losing because of it)

>> But you are still saying turn rate is dependant on chassis only?

As much as i would like to say it is, i hesitate to because i dont think we're given all the factors involved with what info we do see ingame to positilvy make that claim. But I will say that Turn rate is heavily influenced by chassis. Of the two YPR values you see inflight, it is the top most listed YRP value (acceleration i think is what sony calls it).

A T/A by memory i think has 5.2 listed as its Yaw and roll rate values. A T/0 in contrast has a what is it.. 1.7? The effects of these values in flight are quite evident.

Yes they are. But do the engine experiment. Get a 40 and 70 ypr engine in the same chassis and look at the difference. I accept chassis has a say in turn rate. But engine certainly does too.

Anyway its late and Im off.

To answer the guys original question, I think we can both agree that engine YPR has a big influence on your ship's handling.

Thats possible. Engines used to have TWO values listed.

Maybe sony isn't telling us everything? or Maybe they left a modifier on it, but didnt feel it was important enough to list? Or maybe they just removed the view on that modifier because they thought it was confusing people but it is still very much there? Anyone's guess really.

Well, on JTL launch, if you dropped an engine in your fighter, it would alter the second engine effects to whatever the ship was you used.

I had an engine with pyr rate (the removed stats) of 150, and another one that was 500. I put them both in my Tie/In fighter and the rates both went to 300...

Now if anyone managed to hit ace pilot in this point in time, we'd be able to at least know the YPR Rate values for each craft...

As of right now, it's not even listed

Engines make a difference and chassis makes a difference. And while engines used to have both rates listed on them, the engine only ever determined one--the PYR accel rate was always determined by the chassis. The number listed for this second rate would change if you put the engine in a different chassis, in fact.

Since that rate had nothing to do with the engine, everything to do with the chassis, and tended to just confuse people, it was dropped from being listed on engines.

I'm a shipwright and RE engine all the time, Yaw/Pitch/Roll rates have 3 dependincies 2 simple 1 complex. All three of them matter, you have your engine Y/P/R, these values are important there is a great difference between 60 and 70 for these values, I can pull tricks around most ships keeping my nose within 20m of the ships hull. Now the second is the chassis all chassis have specfic Y/P/R values that will modify the Y/P/R of your engine based on its value, its one of those things you just accept and look out for. Now the complex one, Mass/Speed, if your in a ship with over 70K (this is an educated guess anyone else have more info please post I know its between 70-95K that this takes effect) your ship will no longer preform at top speed. An A-wing at top speed won't matter and will be able to pull the same moves at any speed. however an xwing needs to cut its speed in 1/2 (what I find works, may be different for indepent and imperial ships) to get full performance out of there Y/P/R.

hope this clarifies everything that matters in your Y/P/R of your ship, yes all 3 parts matter. (I don't know what the 2 parts other people were trying to talk about)
