not to hijack the thread but "if they let us unload in space, what is the purpose of me making the heavy cargo holds, f'n idiots" everything i've made is pointless if they do that.

they just need to make the cargo holds bigger...even for a POB its just 3500. for fighters its only 1550, so in like7 min or so u have to go back and unload.

Personally I think there should be a way to unload cargo in space. Having to land everytime is really bad for me because first of all, I have really long loading times. Also every loading time gives the game the opportunity to crash on me, which it often does.
Of course being able to unload next to the asteroid is stupid, but maybe we should be in 500m range of one of these resource outposts or something.
The idea of an /unload command (on the ground or, as I suggested, near an outpost) would be cool to reduce the datapad lag, as the original poster said.

The reason for the cargo holds being so small is that they want people to use the y-8 for mining. It's hold can carry about 34k.
I know the quest is bugged, but I don't think the Dev's took that into consideration when designing the mining concept.

how about unloading into a ship with a bigger hold?
say fighters unloading into a Y-8 with a large hold.
say fighters unloading into a Y-8 with a large hold.
