They have to do something to stop people from camping the entrance as thats what EVERYONE does in PvP zones. I have seen different games handle it in different ways. He are some modifications of those ideas they could use.
1.) They could have a dampening zone around which no weapons can fire and have it like a force field that no weapon can fire into either. Only engines so you can see if people are camping the entrance and leave if they are or get reinforcements.
2.) Have say a Tier 20 ship come by every 5 minutes or so and kill anyone there 2 times in a row. Get a wearning on first pass and thgen boom on second pass. The first idea I think is the best idea but I remember is some game I played where they had the uber ships and we would all try to kill the ship and sometimes win. But I think in this game Tier 20 would be untouchable by any number of ships. You have to assume some guild would bring ALL their members to try and take it out so you need a safety margin.
But for first idea just put some beacons out say 500m from the entrance and then you have a safe loading zone.
5 Stars Well thought out. But how about covert timer. Your covert for say oh 2min. Yeah maybe extreme on the time but some actually take that long to load. Happend to me once saw a guy he was overt in theed. He was buffed and i took him out. come to find he was still loading and was from romania. I felt so bad i payed for his new buff.

I finished my Ace mission last night. Had a couple of instances of being load killed my first couple of runs. Needless to say I was not happy but I did expect it. The second day of trying I named my ship NOPVPPLS. I was flying thru system looking for the rebel vette and came across some reb players fightin some ties. One of them broke off and came after me and fired a few shots then peeled off, I guess after he read my ship name. I kept goin and passed them quite a few times as I searched the zone without further incident. Keeping things like they were designed could have worked if not for the minority of tards on each server.

Well I jumped into to kessel the other night and bang load killed
tried again and bang once more load killed
tried a few more times then gave up
What else is a standard tie fighter with mk1 equipment used for ?

Started scanning area, found a few NPC's, then 1 player closing fast, 2KM away. I hit full speed and fly towards him, hit my shields to front full, at 700m start shooting like mad, and I still die. Great. So in this case, its pray who's numbers are just a bit higher.... or try and dodge, and get slaughterd because you cant dodge in space at that range, or any range except sub300m. Even in an AWing. This'll be the last time I go into kessel, or go overt in space, or for that matter, try and have fun against people in space. No ammount of uber gear will make PVP fun, because I will either be on the receiving end of a 2 second kill beat stick, or giving it, and NEITHER of those options is appealing to me. Sorry SOE, griefing doesent make my day. Know whatd make my day? an actual fight that takes some skill in space, what a novel idea, skill in something they said skill would be the most important aspect of...Currently the most important part of PVP is loading into the kessel when no one is there, making your way to a spawn point, and parking your ass for some good ol' shooting gallery fun. Whooo....Im going to go play some Halo 2 now, because the space combat in that is WORLDS better. And that isent saying a whole lot, those ships are hard to piolet on a joystick, but ya know, if it lasts longer than 2 seconds, its a better time no matter how hard it is to controll.I cant belive I waited so long for this crap. I was in the beta and quit because this is exactly how it was, nothings changed sence beta, they totaly ignored all voices of reason.
MAYBE those guys that griefed you were from another server, and they were pissed about someone ELSE supporting PVP and decided to start characters on your server to punish people.
pvp is difficult now, it does not allow room for error, and your technique seems to be error prone. not saying i'm the best pilot in the world, but i am saying you are one of the worst. but hey, maybe you are good at console games right? that's cool, that's cool. you can't be good at everything.

dude, your not only a little insulting chode, but your alsochildish. You attack something you know nothing of based on 1 line that is unrelated to other comments. You assume I play console games and that Im very good at them, your right. Youd also be right to assume that space combat in this is a dummd down version of more, in depth, space combat games. Simple is easyier, im about as good a piolet as your going to find. Thats not saying much, theres very little room for skill in a game where your dead in 2 seconds. Atleast in space, hey, look at counterstrike, people dont survive straight combat for more than a few seconds at a time unless your hiding a lot, but that game pulls it off because tactics and reflexes play a huge role.
Not much reflex in space combat, everything is limited by your ship parts, and all the high end ship parts are within a few %% of eachother.
Also you clearly dont under stand that if you tried any "moves" at that range, that you would be exposed to the first volly of fire, and DEAD., full front shields, weapon overcharge, thats about it that you can do to help it. Try taking a roll on a combat situation where you both start 2KM apart, see how well that does for ya. ANYONE can pick off someone stupid enough to veer off from the initial volly, its cake to slaughter someone that way.
