A-wings used to drive me insane. They were pretty much the one rebel ship that could out-dogfight me. That was because I had the wrong focus when fighting A-wings. First off, a bomber or weapons heavy type of ship (bomber, aggressor, oppressor) will have serious trouble maneuvering to keep a lock on A-wings when moving at top speed. But everyship has something called a speed of best maneuverability. I know the aggressor and oppressor tend to have speeds of best maneuverability around 1/2 throttle (experiment around that speed), but when fighting A-wings you want to be able to match their maneuverability less so than their speeds. Then just track them until they start their approach, light up their front shields and then as they flee don't chase so much as just keep a bead on them until they make the next approach.


Or you could do what I did, make a 1106 speed TIE interceptor and chase them down at their own speedand maneveurability. I actually made a 1391 speed interceptor but I had 16k mass left for everything but reactor/engine/droid.

Sure. But at the same time, nerf ALL imperial NPCs but the bombers.


I don't get what the complaints about the A-wing is all about, I've fought tier 4 and (maybe 5) A-wings, I've fought tier 4 and 5 TIE's of a huge variety, I've fought tier 4 and 5 X-wings, B-wings and Y-wings. The imperial ships are actually almost as hard as the A-wing at a comparable tier (The aggressor being arguably much moredangerous), whilst the X-wings, B-wings and Y-wings are pathetic. Is it just that imperial pilots are too used fighting these other "flying target"-wing rebel fighters?

TACTICS are the name of the game, not crying for nerfs when there's something that gives you a problem. Enough of that has happened in the ground game, and now it's a PARODY of what it could have been.

If you aren't already, use Engine Overload 3. Not only does it speed you up, but it effects your maneuverability stats as well. Roll as well, rolling stacks on top of your yaw rate, making you turn faster if you roll into the target.

JTL has been nerfed THREE TIMES NOW (Kessel, AI, upgradable newbie ships) to make it easier for those not used to sims to acclimate. It's getting ridiculous now. This game isn't hard to master - don't turn JTL into Toontown Online.

To me this is the problem. I say increase the speed an manuverability of the Awing and reduce its sheilds and hull drastically. I am not saying the Awing is hard, as I have not found anything in JTL actually hard, but I would rather see the Awing doing what it is supposed to, not what it is.

target engines too... makes the fight last half the time against awings... as chipping away at the engine state slows the buggers down.


I fully agree with Jotun too. cool it with the nerfs SOE.
