The YT-1300 should have deflectors, and a Hyperdrive otherwise how could it be a effective transport. Those things come as standard on any transport I have heard of. Yes the base model of the YT-1300 should not have a Deflector or Hyperdrive of the quality Han Solo had on the Falcon but they should have a basic versions.

It doesn't really matter, Freelancers can fight for both sides, as long as you are declared, otherwise you will just be a regular Neutral.

If you want to fly it, pick up Freelancer, and just fight for the Rebels or Imps. Its not a big deal.
