I'm all for it. I have no problem with the "old" ships being in there. I've seen stray droid fighters in various places, and as mentioned before SW is really at a technologicaly stagnant point. Sure you add a gun to a TIe or change the solar panels, but it is basically the same thing. Even now second level armies still useoutdated equipment, there are tons of MIG 21 figher jets in use all over the world, and that is a 1950's design. Think how much stuff has changed here in the last 50 years, and then imagine how insignificant 30 years would be in a society that hasn't changed much in 4000 years!

Technology in the SW universe dosnt move very fast. Things have been pretty much the same for thousands of years. Look at KOTOR, thats thousands of years before Ep 1, and other then the way some things look, the technology is pretty much the same. By the point of the timeline of the game, the yt-1300 and the KSE Firespray are both about 25-30 years old, but they are just as good as any other ship around.

I sorta agree with Cuality... if only out of a mild sense of hate for episode 1....
though, I guess at least a similar, elegant, fighter should be in the game. I'd kinda like to see a chrome'd out ship in space. Might look kinda cool, though.
As for the age of ships... well, the Millenium Falcon is still in use in the New Jedi Order (and the books are cannon, lucas says so) and thats something like... 35 years after the battle of yavin.
And it still works just fine.

in the SW universe technology doesnt really pick up in speed till after ROTJ, where all sorts of new ships are created, Such as the E-wing, TIE defender, Eclipse Star Destroyer, etc. But even then, its a different application of old tech.

So your saying you want the ugly fighters that no one finds attractive looking added to the game. UMM sure, they just added us a fighter, what makes you think they are going to do another one. Its called Combat Rebalance my friend.. Not gonna happen anytime soon so let it go..

I don't mind any faction getting any new ships as long assame number of existing ships from the faction gets replaced or nerfed at the same time, i.e, if TIE Avenger is ever gonna be added to the game, please nerf that ugly looking Vader edtion of TIE Advanced.

Yeah, I'd like to see some of the prequal era ships in there too.
I mean in Rogue Squadron 2: Rebel Leader Luke found a Jedi Starfighter crash landed on geonosis, and the naboo fighter is unlockable.
It would be cool to have some rare ships used by specific people such as:-
Privateer - Naboo Fighter (for RSF), Virago type Blacksun fighter (for Corsec), R-41 or T-wing (for SA). NabooMPS (multiperson ship) like Amidala's shipfor RSF, a Guri's Stinger type MPS for Corsec and maybe a Xyler transport or Marauder Corvette off X-Wing Allaince for SA.
Imps - Imperial Shuttleor Imperial Carrier (from SE Episode IV) as another multiperson ship. They could also have the TIE Defender andTIE Phantom.
Rebel - Not sure about this... since all the GCW fighters have been used. If Capital ships are implemented, rebels could have the Corvette and Medium transport, after all they are fairly small capital ships.
Jedi - Jedi fighter (Episode 2) and Tri-Fighter (episode 3)
The thing is that if we already have droid fighters in game, it makes sence to have other prequal era ships in. I mean 30 years isn't that long if you think about it, today you still see cars/planes/trains from 30 years ago fairly often, so why not in a galaxy far far away? However, the ships should perhaps be loot rather than craftable, since the production of the ships would probably have stopped in some cases.
However, ships like the TIE Defender and the E-wing are further in the future of the starwars universe... however you could counter that argument by saying that so are A-wings and B-wings, but to a lesser extent. What I dont want to see however are ships from starwars ancient history, like the Ebon Hawk and Sith fighters off KOTOR, because that would be just stupid!

I'm not one for petitions, but I will say that I'd love to see the N1 as a ship.
I've tried all three pilot professions and for some reason free lance just fits right with me. The only beef I have is that when you're flying one of the existing ships, it just doesn't feel as much like "Star Wars" as it does when flying a tie or one of the alliance ships. I figure that will change when I pick up the YT1300, but heck yeah I'd love to see the N1. Personally, I'd like to see it as a Master Level fighter craft to contend with the A-Wing.

Why are people like you into friggin nerfing things?!?!? Has it ever occured to you to improve something to bring it to somethings equal rather then lower something? Technology is supposed to progress, what sense would it make to make a ship, then retard an older one. Wouldnt the older one still be able to use the same equipment it did before the new one was made? Why people cry for nerfing amaizes me, its always easier to nerf then it is to improve and that is something we need to change.
