I think you have to play with your new char for 6 consecutive months like your main char.

yea, its account not char. but i was wondering does it have to be 6 consecutive months when jtl comes out? maybe you were subscribed for 6 months before and your account recently got interrupted for a week or two. would you still get the yacht?
