What I suggest is they make it so its exactly like the bazzar, unless you have the items in your inventory screen you cannot sell them. Anything in a bag the chassey broker will not buy... I hate it the way it currently is, its driving me nuts!

However... the stuff that is in a separate container gets demoted to last on the list.So when im selling space loot to him, if i have pre sorted my good stuff into a container i just keep my inventory open for a quick double check as i'm selling the items.
Organize your inventory as well, the chassis dealer buys stuff in order from the last item in your inv up. To organise your inventory go to list view, and use the sort tabs at the top to arrange your inv by item type. This way all the ship components will be aranged by type and in a nice neat group in your inv. Then just change back to icon view and you will see a nicely arranged inventory.
You can also open the info window on the left side of your inv, theres a little double arrow at the top. This allows you to see your items stats without examining it. Very integral for fast loot sorting. Using these techniques managing and selling your loot is fast and easy.
