Many of us played the Shadows of the Empire back on the N64. It was based around a character named Dash Rendar who was a smuggler like Han, but hade his own agenda, and a very funny LE droid named Leebo. Great game.

bah, the 2400 is too simliar to the Falcon...The devs are just throwing a bone here, it takes a small amount of effort to copy an existing ship and change some art on/in it.

I'd really like to see some more bigger multiplayer ships, and more freighters and stuff. Freightors would be different from existing ships, and the bonus would be they have a huge item limit.

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

j/k lol but seriously dood, the 2400 is an existing star wars ship, not just some thing that SOE made up to throw into SWG.. not ''just throwing a bone'' lol. it is a part of the YT series, and all YT's look relatively similar, as they are made by the same company and are all improvements on one another. the YT-2400 is a later model than the YT-1300, although both are still highly modifiable as the YT series is known for.

If rebels can fly the YT-2400 the DEVs would make me a very very happy person, and if it isnt i will be a very very un happy person..

I feel the YT Series should be flyable by all factions and give the Neu's different types, like a bounty hunter type ship and a pirate type whatever.

There are lots of things in the .TRE files that have never made it into the game.
You probably found the YT-2400 fly-by sounds, which have been there for a long time.

But the fact remains that the devs did say there were two ships currently in the works, and this appeared in the patch 17 .tre (or so he says).

What he means, and I agree, is that as a 3d computer model, there is little difference between the YT-2400 and the YT-1300. It's not as blatant a the Krayt is modeled after the Kimogila,but I for one would like to see something a little different. Throw us a bone by introducing an original design already not present in game or derivative of an existing ship. And not ALL of us have played that game, or any of the games, so it doesn't appeal to those that don't have some bias like you do by playing that game

So, unless you've played those games and are familiar with the YT-2400, it appears to simply be a derivative of the YT-1300, which, going by the fiction you refer to, itIS derivative. SOE saves a lot of effort using the same 3d wireframe models to make multiple ships, we're asking that they make something original, not simply copy what's already been done for player ships.

Problem with .tre files, is that devs put alot of stuff in them.

Check out older sound files.

You can find the sail barge there even.

The sound is in the hotfix_sku1_16_1_00.tre file anyways... so i think thats a recent addition

Hey, as long as this thing has a more workable floorspace than the YT1300, I am all for it. That is unless they get the Y8 z axis fixed, then I won't care 'cause I'll have my max amount of interiors.

And I am pretty nanoyed by guys saying they wish/hope the YT series is given to everyone becuase it's not factioned so it ought to belong to everyone. If you want to be a freelancer, be a freelancer, I don't go asking for TIEs or X-wings so leave us alone. After the devs gave ranger specials (root and snare, yeah that's right it was ours before they just handed them out everywhere), I really would not stand for another giveaway. I mean, I know it isn't going to happen and my YT1300 is mine for good, but just the thought of anyone else asking for it is enough to make my eyes bulge.
