If this is true - how do you have two people flying it (well one pilot one gunner)-
You can have two players in the normal Y-Wing ( not the long boat ). Just group them and use the group button on the ship screen (where you see manage, launch, etc). They will be pulled up as your gunner.

I'd be willing to pay a fee if I could have four to five ships...

Sure I'd pay a fee. I already do for all my buildings and harvesters.
But it would really just be a credit sink. Heck, when you can carry 11 million units of various resources on your person (in 110 stacks of 100K, each), what difference could having 5 ships on a datapad really make?

Yes. If you think about it, if I'm wealthy enough to own five ships(most of which I paid 750k-1mill for) then I can afford to store them somewhere.
