What do we, the players, need to do to get your attention and convince you that we do not want the CU?

Its called denial. First they must hit rock bottom to see the mistakes they've made. Rock bottom should occur 1-3 months after the release of the CU when the servers are even bigger ghost towns than they are now.

Asking them to change the CU is pointless.

They are on a deadline, and have it set up to coincide with the Expansion pack, in order to also pimp the new SW movie.

Asking the devs to hold the CU back is like asking a beaver to build a damn that will deflect a Tsunami - it just cannot be done.

Best bet to get the dev's attention is a month or two after the deadline passes - I doubt they have much time to even look at the forums anymore.

I agree...but to your last point...ask rangers, SL's, and Smugglers how long they have been waiting....

True. But then look at Chefs and Droid Engineers. They got revamps as well. And in the professions we all mentioned, there will be people who say life was better before and life was better after the revamps. But if you are talking in terms of deadlines, there is evidence also of professions getting revamped, as well as not.

My point is neither one of us can say one way or another - its a crapshoot.

I do not think the DE's were very happy with their revamp...but we both agree about the crapshoot....Deadline development usually always has lingering issues....

I don't think most players who are upset with the direction the game is going and who have been here a while will wait 1-2 months after the CU to finally have their complaints acknowledged by the devs. This isn't like the first year when Star Wars was still the new game on the block. There are a lot of other games out there with more content.

Everyone has a breaking point or a point of no return and the CU is it for many of us. I can honestly say that if this game wasn't set in the Star Wars Universe I would of been gone a long, long time ago to a MMORPG far, far away from the hands of SOE or LucasArts. I think a lot of us are only here because its Star Wars and we hope against all odds the game will come around.

I hate to think how many Veteran Players who I've known since launch have told me "Yeah I'm sticking around till the CU and if it doesn't fix the game I'm gone." The devs dropped the ball on this, and it may take a few months to notice the effects but there will be a huge drop in players if this thing falls as flat as it appears it will.

Yeah, I can understand that view, and there is a difference between a new game, and one that has been out. And while I hope I don't have to reroll on another server, I will if the population makes things unbearable here.

I guess in an odd way, I have more patience than most with this game. Perhaps part of it is because if old people leave, and new people come in, I will have a head start and be the BMOC.

My biggest concern is that I understand how things like work.

Someone in authority makes a decision. He/she cannot or will not then change that decision because he/she will feel like they lose face. Personally I have much more respect for an executive that can stand up and take responsibility for a mistake. I work for a very large corporation. A single customer complaint was sufficient to lead us to purchasingseveral million dollars worth of new equipment (there were other complaints but this one got the companies attention). Our reasoning was that if we got one complaint, then there are many more we haven't heard. That customer complaint stated that this person was so displeased they were switching to a competitor's product. The problem with SOE and SWG is there is no competitor.

All of that said the scenario I fear is the following:

CU goes live, players leave in droves. The new players come in and find the game worlds virtually empty, they leave. Now SOE, rather than admitting CU was a big mistake pushes a couple bug ridden publishes to live, they send emails to all those of us that left. Very few people return. They reach the point where salaries and maintenance exceed income, SOE shuts SWG down. This is not too far-fetched. I know of at least one example of just this scenario.

Yep, I agree with someone having the guts to stand up, but its quite possible the people in charge of the schedule aren't getting the full picture. All depends on the people collecting the info on customer reaction and what they are reporting. Surely, someone would have to stand up somewhere, but the guys setting the direction may not know the full info or its spun in such a way they believe the quotes from Stratics.
