That said, anyone actaully seen a 1.0 effective weapon? Thanks - typos fixed!
I came close in Beta with a lvl 8 Ion Cannon got to .92. Never did try to make a lvl 10 one.

Armor hitpoints do not take damage. Only the Armor Points of a peice of armor are damaged.
How about adding an explanation abouthitpoints, energy effeciency, and general effeciency affect component performance?

I'd like to see a Friday Feature with the differences in ship chassis', since they also factor in how the components will be.

when crafting it would be handy to know a base range that a given component has before actually doing the combine...

How about "how come sometimes, at least at low levels, I can get shields which show 870/237 for back and 870/342 for front?"
Those supposed max numbers aren't perfectly correct, but I remember having a few shields which went to 870 out of a supposed max of 200s or 300s, and never understood it.

So now I've got this little game I play when the Friday feature comes out. I try to guess the number of whiners who will complain about the quality/topic/state/tardiness of the friday feature. It's fun becuase the usual players show up to complain, so the guessing becomes quite easy. I guessed 5 today, and looks like there's 6. Pretty close.
Maybe next week I'll hold a raffle, and the poster who guesses the correct number of whiners in the FF will win a ship chassis of their choice. In the event of a tie, I will throw a chance cube.
oh, btw--Great Friday Feature. Very useful and informative. It's nice to have a definitive source for these values.
